RELEASE
TROY GRANT URGED TO BE MORE LIKE BARNABY
AND SPEND LESS TIME WITH BATMAN

Online advocacy group restofnsw inc. has encouraged the NSW Nationals to emulate
their Federal counterparts by keeping a core focus on regional NSW.
Deputy Leader Barnarby Joyce has retained his position as Agriculture Minister
notwithstanding his elevation to Deputy Prime Minister. Meanwhile Deputy Premier
Grant has time to be the Arts Minister and do functions with Batman. Troy should
copy Barnabys priorities.
restofnsw Chair Cr Bob Wheeldon said
restofnsw believes the NSW Government needs new priorities and a new team that
will listen to local communities concerns about amalgamations.
We have yet to see Troy Grant west of Dubbo or Wagga and there could not be a
clearer example of a Government that is out of touch than the amalgamation fiasco.
Paul Toole is not up to the job and should be sacked. The Deputy Premier should not
be the Minister for Arts & Police, he should be looking after water, land management
or regional development. We need more regional Ministers with a focus on regional
outcomes.
restofnsw Chair Cr Bob Wheeldon said
restofnsw see a stark difference between the progress made at a State and Federal
level and believe the NSW Nationals should take advice from Mr Joyce.
At a state level we are still faced with Carr Government era red tape and
bureaucracy. Regional Development is virtually non-existent and Local Government
reform has so far proved to be a nightmare for almost everyone involved. It makes
you question the priority of the NSW Nationals if all of these policy areas are left
unattended but the Deputy Premier has time for photo ops with Batman.
