DOCUMENTS CHECKLIST FOR STUDENT VISA

(Please tick the documents being submitted by you)


Note: Please provide the documents in the same order as below

Bank Draft of Rs. 28,500/- in favor of Australian High Commission and payable at
New Delhi.

Valid Passport (photocopy) must contain a recent photograph

Statement of Purpose (Guidelines attached at Annexure 1)

4 passport sized colored photographs for each of the applicants. Please write the
name and DOB of each of the applicants on the back of each of the
photograph.

Affidavit from Applicant confirming the authenticity of the documentation being


provided (sample copy attached at Annexure 2)

Qualification and Work experience Evidences (original and 2 sets of photocopies


attested by Public Notary)

IELTS Test report (photocopy and notarized)

Work experience letters from all your employers including the current employer
starting form the recent most (if applicable).

All qualifications documents should be arranged starting from the highest to the
lowest qualification (Certificate and Mark sheets).

Financial Documents in Original unless indicated otherwise (to be provided for each
of the sponsor including parents in the same order)

Affidavit of support (Sample attached at Appendix 3) from:

Evidence of family income of parent / sponsor. These evidences need to be

Bank statement showing the salary deposited by employer on regular
basis.

For Self Employed

Evidence of following assets:

Savings Bank Account: Bank Statement clearly showing transactions for past 3
months. Please submit original bank statements and 1 set of photocopy (no
need to get it notarized)

Fixed deposits (3 months Old ONLY): 2 sets of notarized photocopies


Provident Fund (only the withdrawal amount): You would need to provide the
following documentation in support of this asset:

Letter from the concerned authority confirming the current balance and
the amount that can be withdrawn for the purposes of education of the
applicant (Sample letter attached at Appendix 5).

Recent most annual statement for GPF.

Note: you would need to provide 2 sets of the notarized photocopies of each
of the relevant document as mentioned above.

Evidences of relationship such as marriage certificate in case of spouse


applicant, birth certificate in case of child applicant.

Other evidences such as engagement / wedding ceremony / Marriage

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please note that:

 only the banks listed in Appendix 7 are acceptable and funds held in any
other financial institutions are not acceptable from India.

 the loan should be fully sanction and all the formalities for the grant of loan
should be completed

 each financial document (including bank loan) provided by you carries the

complete address, name and phone number (including STD Code) of the
concerned authority.

 documents provided by you are recent and are no more than 4 days old
 documents are provided in the same order as mentioned in this checklist
 documents are not stapled. If you need to staple them, use the paper clip
instead.

APPENDIX 1
HOW TO WRITE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
This is statement from you that clearly outlines the reasons for your undertaking the
proposed course of study in Australia.
While writing the statement of Purpose, please follow the following guidelines:
1. First Paragraph should give a brief introduction to your academic and
employment (if applicable) background. This must highlight the subjects that
you have already studied and are common with the proposed course in
Australia.
2. Second Paragraph should give a brief family background (only if the
proposed course is related to the family background e.g. your father has a
hotel and you propose to study Hotel Management).
3. Third paragraph should give a brief introduction to the field that you wish to
study e.g. computer industry if you propose to study computing. This
paragraph should highlight the growth and the potential that the relevant
industry offers and also must highlight the relevance between your
background and the proposed course in Australia.
4. In the fourth and the last paragraph, you must mention the reasons to study in
Australia and how will the proposed course assist you. You may like to write
that in order to find a good job, you wish to do this course.

APPENDIX 3
SAMPLE AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT
This declaration is required to be given by all the sponsors including the parents.
Please note that only one affidavit is required for the couple e.g. single affidavit is
required for mother and father, single affidavit is required from aunt and uncle if they
are sponsoring, etc.

SAMPLE LETTER FROM TEHSILDAR FOR AGRICULTURE INCOME

GUIDELINES FOR THE APPLICANTS USING GPF/EPF
Note: If you are showing any balance in the GPF account, you must get the letter
from your employer in the following format. This letter must specify the contact
details of the person issuing the letter including name, address and phone number
and must be accompanied by the recent most statement issued by the employer.
Please note that only the parents can use their GPF/EPF and the GPF/EPF fund of any
friend or relative is not acceptable.
