This assignment fulfills Competency 2.1.3: Apply critical thinking to inform and
communicate professional judgments. For this assignment, I was required to complete a biopsycho-social assessment of my client as well as a plan for change. As a result, my client had a
full evaluation, which includes their past and present history to learn what contribute to the
clients psychological well-being and social history current problems. The competency 2.1.3
includes the following practice behaviors: distinguish, appraise, and integrate multiple sources of
knowledge including research-based and practice wisdom; analyze models of assessment,
prevention, intervention, and evaluation; and demonstrate effective oral and written
communication in working with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.
The practice behaviors fulfilled in this assignment after completing the evaluation a written
history; I was able to effectively implemented the last practice behavior of this competency. Not
only was I able to analyze models of assessment but also implemented models of assessment that
I had previously learned about when competing for the bio-psycho-social assessment. As a result,
this assignment prepared me for future clinical work by familiarizing me with the structure of a
bio-psycho-social assessment, and I feel that this task successfully fulfilled competency 2.1.3.
