The following table provides a brief history of the updates to this guide. Ariba updates the technical
documentation for its On Demand solutions if
software changes delivered in service packs or hot fixes require a documentation update to correctly
reflect the new or changed functionality;
the existing content is incorrect or user feedback indicated that important content is missing.
Ariba reserves the right to update its technical documentation without prior notification. Most
documentation updates will be made available in the same week as the software service packs are released,
but critical documentation updates may be released at any time.

About Ariba Discovery Single Sign-on


This feature is available for both buyers and sellers in Ariba Discovery release 8.
Ariba Discovery accounts now include access to both buyer and seller functionality. Sellers can use their
existing username and password to create postings, review proposals, and build real business relationships.
Buyers can use their existing username and password to receive leads, respond to postings, and discover new
business relationships.

Enabling Ariba Discovery Single Sign-on


This is an out of the box feature available to all customers. It requires no action to use it.

Requirements
You must accept the Ariba Discovery terms of use to create buyer and seller accounts.

Using Ariba Discovery Single Sign-on


Existing buyers and sellers can begin creating or responding to postings in minutes by simply clicking the
I'm Buying or Im Selling tab. During registration, buyers and sellers are also given the option to create a buyer
or seller account in addition to their main account.

To create an Ariba Discovery buyer account:


1 If you have an existing seller account, click the Im Buying tab.

A new window appears and displays additional information about becoming a buyer on Ariba Discovery.

Using Ariba Discovery Single Sign-on

Ariba Discovery displays a confirmation message informing you that your Ariba Discovery buyer account
has been created:

To create an Ariba Discovery seller account:


1 If you have an existing buyer account, click the Im Selling tab.

A new window appears and displays additional information about becoming a seller on Ariba Discovery.
2 Select the commodities, sales territories, and locations that your company serves.

Enhanced Location Selection

About Enhanced Location Selection


This feature is available for both buyers and sellers in Ariba Discovery release 8.
Sellers can now include the regions they serve in their profile. Previously, sellers that serve Europe would
have to select nearly 50 countries. Now, Ariba Discovery displays a list of regions that are typically grouped
together for geographic reasons, allowing sellers to quickly indicate the locations they serve.
Buyers can now specify the regions they want their goods or services delivered in postings. Previously,
buyers that wanted goods or services delivered in Europe would have to select nearly 50 countries. Now,
Ariba Discovery displays a list of regions that are typically grouped together for geographic reasons,
allowing buyers to quickly indicate the locations they want their goods or services delivered.

To help provide sellers with better information about the current status of a posting, Ariba Discovery has
enhanced the posting user interface. Each posting now includes information about the event status and
displays the number of questions, answers, responses, and responses read.

Posting Progress Enhancements for Buyers


To help provide buyers with better information about the current status of a posting, Ariba Discovery has
enhanced the posting user interface. Each posting now includes information about the event status and
displays the number of matches notified, questions, answers, responses, and responses read.

This feature is applicable to all buyer and supplier users in:
Ariba Network
Ariba Discovery
In Release 11s3, Ariba Network uses the cookie-based session management based on industry standards. A
session cookie is added to improve the security of these sessions.
Users can configure their privacy settings for the web browser to support cookies for sessions management.

Enabling Cookie-based Session Management


This is an out of the box feature available to all buyer and supplier users. You must ensure that your web
browser allows cookies for session management.
Note: If your web browser does not accept cookies from ariba.com, then you cannot log in to Ariba

Network.

Required Web Browser Configuration


Ariba Network supports the Low (default) privacy settings configured for the browser. If you have changed
these settings, then you must ensure that your web browser continues to support cookies from Ariba
Network.
To specify cookie settings for Internet Explorer: on page 15

To specify cookie settings for Internet Explorer:


1 In Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
2 Click the Privacy tab, and then click Sites.
3 In Address of website, type ariba.com.
4 Click Allow to allow cookies from the Ariba Network website to be saved on your computer.
5 Click OK twice.

To specify cookie settings for Mozilla Firefox:


1 In Mozilla Firefox, click the Tools menu, and then click Options.
2 Click the Privacy tab, and then click Exceptions.
3 In Address of website, type ariba.com.
4 Click Allow to allow cookies from the Ariba Network website to be saved on your computer.
5 Click Close.
6 Click OK.

To specify cookie settings for Apple Safari:


1 In Apple Safari, click the button that displays the menu of the general Safari settings and then click
Preferences.
2 Click the Advanced tab, and then click Changed Settings.
3 Click the Privacy tab, and then click Settings.
4 In Address of website to allow, type ariba.com.
5 Click Add to allow cookies from the Ariba Network website to be saved on your computer.
6 Click Close.
7 Click OK.

About Event Monitoring Interface Enhancements


This feature is available in Version 11s1 SP2 in Ariba Sourcing.
Ariba Sourcing leverages Ariba Discovery and enables you to review responses, answer questions, or edit
postings within Ariba Sourcing on the Discovery Supplier tab.
Now, you can view the number of your posting and eIntro unread responses directly on the Discovery
Suppliers tab. This enables you to quickly determine if you have new Ariba Discovery responses when you
first access the event monitoring interface.

For more information about viewing Ariba Discovery responses in the event monitoring interface, see
Chapter 9 Postings on Ariba Discovery, in the Ariba Event Management Guide.

The Discovery Suppliers tab now displays the number of unread responses you have for Ariba Discovery
