THE DEAN,

FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY,

INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF EAST AFRICA,
P.O.BOX 35502,
KAMPALA,
UGANDA.
Dear Sir,
RE: REQUEST FOR A VENUE AND FACILITATION TO LAUNCH
THE IUEA GOOGLE DEVELOPERS GROUP.
I hereby request that you provide a venue and facilitation for the launch of the Google
Developers group, IUEA chapter on Tuesday 10th February 2014 from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
Google Developer Groups (GDGs) are for developers and students who are interested in
Google's developer technology; everything from the Android, App Engine, and Google Chrome
platforms, to product APIs like the Maps API, YouTube API and Google Calendar API. This is
meant to equip students with Practical skills that they are not able to get from the normal
classroom setting.
A GDG can take many forms -- from just a few students getting together to watch a tutorial, to
large gatherings with demos and tech talks, to events like code sprints and hackathons. However,
at the core, GDGs are focused on developers and technical content, and the core audience are
student developers.
For the launch, we expect to have a guest list of about 100 students and 4 speakers which will
require a venue that can accommodate that number or more, a projector, public address system
and a refreshment.
Looking forward to your positive feedback.
Yours faithfully,

TUMUSIIME PATRICK,
GDG IUEA CHAPTER ORGANISER.
