Unit 13 Extended Project in Creative Media Production
STUDENT NAME
Kieran Askew
This unit requires you
to produce a written project proposal of about 500 words. The proposal should address the following: Provide a brief review of your progress and achievement to date, prior to starting UNIT 13. Consider skills acquired, working methods, achievements and general / specific progress in aspects of theory and practical. Over the course of this course Id say that I have gained a good number of skills for these last few years. Some of the practical aspects to these include things like; learning editing software like Final Cut Pro X Adobe After Effects. Learning Cameras like the Canons & Panasonic Gh4 and crane operation. As far the theoretical side to film goes, having film breakdown lessons with Darren have been personally very useful. One of these being the breakdown of Genre we did for Film Noir was partially good.
What is your project concept and rationale?
My project is to be a short British Social Realist piece about two men in Workington. A father and a Son. The project is focused around their relationship, how when they once they are forced upon oneanother they struggle to re-connect at first, but through talking to on-another they gradually begin to reform that broken bridge.
How will your project be evaluated and reviewed?
One of the reasons I chose this subject area is that I wanted to make something that felt like it was home-grown in Workington and it was something that reflected Workington. As such I will be getting family and friends from the area to review the piece upon completion. I will also be doing self evaluation, again on project completion. In addition provide: A timetabled action plan My main aims with the timetable for this project is that Im currently looking at shooting on Thursday the 2nd of June, with a second shoot day Monday the 6th of June is necessary, I expect this will be the case. After this, I will begin the edit, I would hope that the Edit takes no longer than two weeks, starting on the 7th of June and finishing around the 17th, which is the last Friday before my deadline of the 20th of June.
I also plan to continuously add to my blog throughout this time, mostly in the form of daily session reviews as well as a steady stream of research on my blog.
In addition provide: A bibliography detailing all research sources.
RIBA ARB Part 3 Exam – the Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice in Architecture (ADPPA) This post is for anyone who is interested in registering with RIBA and ARB as a chartered Architect. I passed my exam a few months ago and I thought I would share my research and experience for those who are interested. Since there are many Part 3 courses you can enrol and each has different criteria on submissions, I am only focusing on the course I took which is titled RIBA Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice in Architecture (Part 3) by the Royal Institute of British Architects. If you are not taking the exact course, don’t worry some information below is still relevant. Feel free to jump to different sections. Quick check: When are you ready for the exam? When you have completed 24 months’ practical experience under the direct supervision of a professional working in the construction industry post-Part II, which include at least 12 months working in UK/EEA.
