Product Description
The WinPlus Windows Interface Program is a relationship Database program designed to
be intuitive and user friendly. WinPlus offers an easy bi-directional Windows computer
interface for the Model 26DL PLUS and the Model 36DL PLUS ultrasonic thickness
gages. Many of the programs capabilities include:
1.2
Viewing Data Set and Survey file information including Waveforms, thickness
readings, gage setup values, and comments
Downloading and uploading Surveys to and from the 26DL PLUS and 36DL PLUS
ultrasonic thickness gages
Collecting snapshot Waveforms from the 36DL PLUS. Snapshot Waveforms are
graphical data sent by the 36DL PLUS that duplicate the exact display screen.

Audience
This document is intended for anyone using WinPlus. Panametrics-NDTTM recommends
that all operators have a thorough understanding of the principles and limitations of
ultrasonic testing. We assume no responsibility for incorrect operational procedure or
interpretation of test results. We recommend that any operator seek adequate training
prior to using Panametrics-NDT equipment. Panametrics-NDT offers a full range of
training courses including Level I and Level II Ultrasonic Testing, Advanced Detection
and Sizing, and Ultrasonic Thickness Gaging. Contact Panametrics-NDT for further
information regarding training courses.

After entering a starting ID number (up to 16 alphanumeric characters), the gage will
automatically increment to the subsequent ID numbers using the standard incrementing
rules. Please refer to Section 6 of the 36DL PLUS manual for information on standard
incrementing rules.
To create an Incremental Data Set, follow these steps:
1. Select File New Data Set. The Generate New Data Set dialog box opens.

amount a sequence increases alphanumerically.
4. Click on the Generate IDs button. The Point IDs display box displays the generated
IDs. Verify that the IDs correct.

ID number location the user wishes to take measurements at Top, Bottom, Left and

5. Click the Save button to save your Sequential Data Set and add it to the selected Data

Note:
4.4
The maximum length for each Custom Point depends on the ID number
length defined in the starting and ending ID number fields. The total length
of the ID number plus the Prefix and Custom Points cannot exceed 16
characters. For example, if the Starting and Ending ID numbers are seven (7)
characters long, as shown in the example above, the maximum length for
each Custom Point is nine (16-7=9).

Editing Files
WinPlus is a Database program; therefore all changes made to a file are immediate and
permanent. Due to this structure, Panametrics-NDT added safeguards to the program that
prevent data from being accidentally changed or deleted. These protective features allow
the user to edit data files and make desirable changes only when the Allow Edit Readings
and Allow Delete Items are activated, however, by default both functions are turned off.
