I. WHAT IS GLOBAL WARMING?/

CAUSES
Global warming is the gradual
heating of Earth's surface, oceans
and atmosphere.
It begins with the greenhouse
effect, which is caused by the
interaction between Earth's
atmosphere and incoming radiation
from the sun.
Scientists have looked at the natural cycles and
events that are known to influence climate.
But the amount and pattern of warming that's
been measured can't be explained by these
factors alone. The only way to explain the
pattern is to include the effect of greenhouse
gases (GHGs) emitted by humans.

II. CAUSES OF GLOBAL

WARMING
Carbon dioxide emissions from
fossil fuel burning power plants
Carbon dioxide emissions from
burning gasoline for transportation

Deforestation, especially tropical

forests for wood, pulp, and farmland
Increase in usage of chemical
fertilizers on croplands
Methane emissions from:
animals, agriculture, such as rice
paddies and from Arctic seabeds

III. EFFECTS OF GLOBAL

WARMING ON AGRICULTURE
In recent years bothdroughts and floodsattributed to changing
climatic conditions have been getting more pronounced.Rising
temperatures are expected to bring crop-shrinking heat waves,
melting glaciers and ice sheets, and rising sea levels, with major
consequences for global food security.

IV. 6 WAYS AGRICULTURE

IMPACTS GLOBAL
WARMING(1)
Positive impacts
1. Carbon sequestration in soils
2. Agriculture as carbon cap and storage
3. Local food systems and greenhouse
gas emissions

IV. 6 WAYS AGRICULTURE

IMPACTS GLOBAL
WARMING(2)
Negative impacts:
4. Industrial agricultures huge carbon
footprint
5. Greenhouse gas emissions from
fertilizer and pesticide
6. Land use changes and agriculture

IV. CONCLUSIONS
To sum up the qualities
of the above mentioned
facts about global
warming, which are
often debated in politics
and media, they are
real, global and
measurable. We are the
main cause, the human
race, and the effects we
shall bring upon
ourselves will be severe,
unless we all work
together to mitigate its
effects.
