Nydree Offers Transparency and Quality

in Wake of Flooring Safety Fears
FOREST, Va. MARCH 5 Sundays 60 Minutes report called out the dangers in using
unregulated, Chinese-manufactured flooring and its failure to meet CARB 2 compliance
because of its high formaldehyde levels. The lower-cost, high-volume manufacturer on
the hot seat is now facing possible criminal charges.
The story highlights the importance of transparency and the need for a high commitment
to regulatory standards and American-made products. Consumers, builders and the
construction industry need not fear the safety of all hardwood flooring. There is a safe,
high-quality answer.
Industry pioneer Nydree Flooring is one of the first wood manufacturers to have a
Health Product Declaration. Nydree, which is the chosen provider of NFL's first LEED
Gold Certified Levi's Stadium and other high-profile sustainable projects, ensures
transparency of all of its products through independent lab testing. Its FloorScore
Certification states it is a low-emitting product and is Indoor Air Quality Certified. All
Nydree products use CARB 2 compliant hardwood plywood (HWPW) that is third-party
certified by independent laboratories. Nydree fabricates all flooring using nonformaldehyde adhesives.
Nydree Flooring is committed to making the healthiest products possible and leads the
wood flooring industry in doing so. All antimicrobial agents have been removed from
Nydree products and in the next eight weeks, benzophenone will be removed from the
finish of 100 percent of its products (Nydree is one of the only U.S. manufacturers to do
so). Nydree uses the Google product procurement guidelines and Pharos guidelines as
its standard to integrate eco principles into all products.
