To write a business letter, follow the steps below:

Decide on the purpose of the letter. For example, you may request information about a
national park, complain about service at a restaurant or suggest a change at your school.
Decide who should receive the letter.

A note about format and font


When writing business letters, you must pay special attention to the format and font used. The
most common layout of a business letter is known as block format.
Using this format, the entire letter is left justified and single spaced expect for a double space
between paragraphs. There is modified block format and semi block format.
