The intended learning outcomes are for students to become more inclusive and
promoting creativity within the class. The way the session is set will promote

Pedagogical considerations:
A mix of the command and task approaches will be used during the initial warm-up.
For the remainder of the session, it will be a completely student centred pedagogies.
With students creating their own games with rules, they will be promoted to think and
engage themselves and each other in order for the session to be successful.
With the premise of the games being created, a lot will be guided discovery. This will
promote students to problem solve for themselves and also develop their ability to
cooperate with other individuals.

be required, potentially more depending on class size.

Dependant on the class students may wish to include a basketball ring to play
their games, this must be taken into consideration.

Multiple different amounts of equipment will be needed in order for students to

be creative in creating their games. In this case the equipment used will be:

Introduction (6-8 minutes)

-

The teacher will introduce the lesson, highlighting aims of the lesson, how this
will be useful and intended outcomes

Safety and a brief session outline should be addressed

The teacher will form 2 groups.

The two groups will then perform a warm up, each person leading a different
exercise or stretch using different areas of the body.

The 2 groups will then be explained to that they need to devise their own
games using the various equipment to demonstrate to the other group. It is
also explained that they have to make sure it's creative and involves
everyone in the group.

Game creation (16 minutes)

This part of the lesson is student directed as they are supplied with various
types of equipment to assist in the creation in their games.

During this time the teachers will walk around giving feedback and advice to
insure maximum creativity from the students.

The students are then asked to come up with a rule or variation to the game
that will make it more challenging. This will mean that they must think
creatively to add a rule that will fit into the game. The teachers will provide
basic ideas for rules to the groups if needed.

The students will then continue to play their game for more time with the new
rule/s or variations added.

Warm down + Finish

The students will then demonstrate their games to each other to see what the
other groups have come up with

The students will then be asked what they have learnt and achieved to
discover if the intended learning outcomes were achieved.
