Description of the Interactive Learning Activity

This activity allows students to click on an organelle in a plant or an
animal cell and see where the organelle is within both cell types.
When the organelles are clicked on it also shows a written
description of the organelle.
This activity allows students to explore the organelles within a cell.
When the mouse is moved over an organelle, the entire organelle
structure lights up to show the entire organelle and a written
description of the organelle is shown. After the students review the
organelles there are questions about the organelles that students can
answer. When asked which organelle has a specific purpose the
student must choose from pictures of the individual organelles. The
students also have the opportunity to construct a plant or animal
cell based on the organelles that belong in each.
In this activity the students must correctly label an animal cells
organelles. The student must drag and drop organelle names to the
appropriate place on the diagram. When the student places an
organelle name correctly the organelle lights up/starts moving.
In this activity the students must correctly label a plant cells
organelles. The student must drag and drop organelle names to the
appropriate place on the diagram. When the student places an
organelle name correctly the organelle lights up/starts moving.
This activity allows students to learn about the organelles in a cell.
When clicked on, a description of the organelle is shown. Students
are also able to look at cells underneath a microscope to see what
the cells actually look like.

For this activity students are presented with questions about

organelles in which they must click on an organelle to correctly
answer the question.
For this activity students will explore the reasoning behind why
cells are so small. They are able to click on + and arrows to
increase and decrease the size of the cell. At each size the students
are given an explanation about the amount of nutrients the cell is
able to absorb at that size and whether or not the cell can survive at
that size.
For this activity students will use their knowledge of organelle
function to correctly complete a crossword puzzle.
For this activity students will assemble a jigsaw puzzle of an animal
cell.
This activity shows an interactive diagram of a plant and an animal
cell. It shows the names of the organelles when they are clicked on.
