Task 1 Scoring

Kindergarten:

Rubric One: 3
I scored this with a three on rubric one because I felt like the lesson was logically
sequenced. Students start off with the definition and a teacher example of setting,
and by the end of the three lessons the students are able listen to personal stories
and decide what the setting is.

Rubric Two: 3
I scored this with a three on rubric two because the candidate addressed the
learning needs of the whole class. The candidate made lesson to keep all students
engaged, moving and learning.

Rubric Three: 2
I scored this with a two on rubric three because I see little to no evidence that the
candidate had considered their particular class in planning the lessons. The
candidate talks about what setting is and what students should know.

Rubric Four: 3
I scored this with a three on rubric four because I notice that the candidate talked
about specific words and other language demands. The candidate talked about
syntax in the lesson when the students pay attention to the arrangement of words.

Rubric Five: 3
I scored this with a three on rubric five because the planned assessments did
provide evidence of students learning of the essential strategy. The reason the
candidate did not get a four is because although the candidate did state that they
used a formal assessment they did not give any detail of the grading or progress of
the assessments given.

Fifth Grade:

Rubric One: 3
I scored this with a three on rubric one because I felt like the lesson was logically
planed and sequenced. The students start off learning about point of view and
different perspectives; the students end the third lesson by writing in different point
of view and perspectives.

Rubric Two: 4
I scored this with a four on rubric two because I felt like the lesson plans address
specific students. I believe that the specific things the candidate is doing will help all
students meet the objective.

Rubric Three: 3
I scored this with a three on rubric three because the candidate showed knowledge
on their particular class. The candidate shows knowledge of specific students
cultural backgrounds and or personal interests/needs.

Rubric Four: 3
I scored this with a three on rubric four because the candidate talked about many
specific words and also other language demands. The candidate talked about
discourse, and also talked about how this all connected to their plans.

Rubric Five: 4
I scored this with a four on rubric five because the candidate provides an array of
assessments. All of the assessments show evidence of literacy learning. The
assessments are at various points through out the lessons as well.
