Organization Classification
Organization classifications define the purpose of an organization and
its functionality within Oracle HRMS. The classifications you assign to
an organization control the additional information you can set up at the
organization level.
You can define one organization with multiple classifications or you can
define separate organizations to represent different types of entity.
Frequently Used Classifications
Business Group: Use this classification to group, manage, and control
access to data in accordance with the rules and reporting requirements
of a country.
Operating Company: An operating company represents a division or
line of business within your enterprise that is legally registered for
reporting in at least one country

Organization Classification
Legal Entity: This represents the designated legal employer for all
employment-related activities The legal authorities in a country recognize
this organization as a separate employer.
HR Organization: Use this classification for all organizations to which
you want to assign employees and contingent workers. At this
classification level one can maintain organization costing, reporting details
etc.
Organization Classification : Business Group
Business group is the highest level of organization in an enterprise.
Business Group have set of segments defined for its Job, Position,
Grade, Employee Group and Cost Allocation key flex fields which defines
the basic work structure of an enterprise.
Oracle HRMS comes with one Business Group supplied as startup data.
One can use this Business Group and its default definitions as the starting
point, or you can create a new Business Group

Organization Hierarchy
Organization hierarchies show reporting lines and other hierarchical
relationships between organizations in an enterprise.
There can one primary hierarchy in a business group. primary reporting
hierarchy reflecting the main reporting lines of organizations in an
enterprise.
In addition to the primary reporting hierarchy, one can set up as many
other organization hierarchies
Organization hierarchies can be classified as local and global
hierarchy. Local hierarchy includes organization of single business
group where in Global hierarchy includes organization from different
business group.
Global organization hierarchies enable to work on organizations in
multiple business groups and provide standard functionality for global
reporting.

Position Overview
Positions are placeholders in your enterprise model representing
roles, which enable you to distinguish between tasks and the
individuals who perform those tasks.
Position is a specific occurrence of one job, fixed within one
organization. For example, the position Finance Manager would be an
instance of the job of Manager in the Finance organization
Types of position
Single Incumbent, meaning that only one employee is allowed to hold
the position at any time
Shared, meaning there can be several incumbents, up to the value of
the FTE field
Pooled (Public Sector only), meaning the position is loosely defined so
rules about FTE and hours are not enforced by the system
None, which you can select if you do not need to record position types

Overview
Grades are used to record the relative status of employee
assignments and to determine compensation and benefits, such as
salary, overtime rates, company car etc.
Grades Rate is the range of pay that has been established to be paid
to employees performing a particular job or function.
Pay Scale is a scale of points and every point can be mapped to
monetary compensation based on the market research
Point Values are monetary compensation fixed for each point in Pay
Scale
Grade Steps are spinal points within each grade and are part of the

Competencies
Competencies are used for performance management and appraisals
of employees. Competence key flex field can also be used to record
hierarchy of competencies.
Additional key flex field can be used to create global competencies that
are available across all business groups. However, same key flex field
can be used for the business group, if required.
Global competencies is defined in the key flex field in the HR: Global
Competence Flex Structure profile option.
Rating scales describe competencies and objectives in a general way.
Types of rating scale
Proficiency scales measure a person's mastery of a skill or technique
Performance scales measure a worker's delivery of a competency or

Weighting scales measure the importance of a competency to the

Setup and Maintain Checklists


Overview
Checklist contains all to-do tasks. The checklist is just for reference
only and does not perform any action. Typically action like new hire
would imply completion of various other tasks such as generation of ID
Card, allocation of desk, background check, etc. That can not be
performed in Oracle HRMS.
Oracle HRMS allows users to keep track of such tasks using the
checklist functionality.
Against each check item, users can record a status, date due, date
achieved and any notes.
Checklist are required to be associated with a life event to auto
generate checklist. System can be instructed to perform tasks on
generation of such life events. For example, you can define changes to
persons type to generate life event for Hire, Deployment and
Termination process.

can be added.

(N) Other Definitions > User Types and Statuses
Sub categories can be added under a category using the User Types
and Statuses window (Other Definitions->User Types and Statuses).
Select DOCUMENT_CATEGORY in the Name field and the Category
in the System Type field. Add your subcategory Description and Code.
Any Category can have a number of Sub categories.
