‘TARIFF NOTICE #16-006 May 19, 2016 TO REMAIN POSTED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE ‘SUBJECT: ALL-DOOR BOARDING ON THE SILVER LINE BUS RAPID TRANSIT SERVICE To speed up boardings and reduce cash payments, Metro's Board approved a 6-month pilot of All-Door Boarding (ADB) on the Silver Line only effective June 26, 2016. Operators will allow boarding and alighting from all doors at all stops, on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Bus Mobile Validators (BMVs) will be installed on all Silver Line buses at the front and rear doors to allow customers to board and TAP to pay their fare, Customers with valid TAP cards are expected to validate their card at the BMV or farebox as they board any door. All customers will be required to have a validated TAP card while onboard the bus. Cash fare will not be accepted on Silver Line service. Instructions for riding the Silver Line when the customer has valid fare on TAP card: * Customer boards bus through the front or rear door * Customer taps the bus mobile validator or farebox inside the door * BMV or farebox displays will verify TAP card is valid ‘© Transaction complete Purchasing a TAP Card & Metro Day Pass with Cash instructions: 1. Customer requests TAP Card 2, Operator informs customer a TAP card must be purchased with a Day Pass to continue on board, or they ‘may purchase from vending machine. 3. Operator provides loaded card to customer 7. Customer is ready to board ‘Customers must board through the front door and pay at the farebox if: Customer requires an upcharge - customers with Z0 passes, 2-hour internal Metro transfers, interagency transfers, Metrolink passes * Customer does not have sufficient funds for the base fare or upcharge on thelr TAP card. Customer may load up to $20 in Stored Value by requesting to reload their card on the fare box © Customer requires assistance ‘© One (1) token is equivalent to a Metro 1-Ride. Tokens do not have cash value and may not be used to pay for a transfer or upcharge, no exceptions! Customers are subject to random fare inspections by Sheriffs and/or LA Metro fare enforcement staff. Please allow enforcement teams to board when requested.
