Update North Tyneside momentum to relaunch in June.Updates on last meeting.
Talk Socialism report JD confirmed that events, workshops and reading groups were in full swing
reported on national publicity from momentum and accessibility on facebook in respect of a
venue, speakers and sourced accommodation for a national/regional event were on going. Also that
funding for a comedy events over the summer are in progress.
National Committee report. 2 delegates sent from the regional network (8 groups were
represented at regional network) to National Committee
Agreed to send four motions
1 Enhanced Political education.
2 Financial advice/need support from national committee.
3 Remain EU
4 Call for a National Conference (kind of AGM)
Request NC advice on banking.
Membership delegation could be waited on Membership numbers.
Flag to members consultation papers.
Tyne and Wear Momentum praised by the national office and officers as one of the best organised
groups.
Structure clarifications Momentum membership drawn from Labour members and including
supporters not yet LP members, but not supporting candidates against Labour. All the organisational
rules and structures are agreed and available on the website. Membership is open to non-party
members.
Proposed that Momentum Tyne and Wear be now confined to that title.
Discussed EU Debate. Agreed to share Andy Mullens left exit speech on Facebook page but also to
include information about Momentum majority position including Another Europe is Possible and
Workers Europe posts as Pat didn't have a written speech or report to publish
Agreed that going forward using the name Momentum, but still with close and supportive

relationship with Red Labour, but now a membership organisation, so this will help clarify matters.
A number of questions raised around link with Labour and Labour leadership and support within the
party.

EU outcomes report and update on EU and Momentum position
Devolution momentums response and other projects on Labour party involvement
Main discussion - What now for labour after the may election results
Next meeting Steering committee Monday 6th June
