- Jos de la Cruz Porfirio Daz Mori was a Mexican soldier and politician, who served seven
terms as President of Mexico; a total of three and a half decades from 1876 to 1911.
-Ignacio Zaragoza Segun was a general in the Mexican army, best known for defeating
invading French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
-Louis-Napolon Bonaparte was the only President of the French Second Republic and, as
Napoleon III, the Emperor of the Second French Empire. He was the nephew and heir of
Napoleon I.
-Maximilian was the only monarch of the Second Mexican Empire. He was a younger brother of

The whole cinco de mayo concept is the recognize the realizations that its not only
just about the food or the festivals, and that it actually isn't a Mexican New Years day or
anything. It actually is a day meant to commemorate the Battle of Puebla a battle between
the French and the Mexicans that was won with the help of the U.S. the battle of pueblo was
won, but many of the Mexican soldiers died and that is the purpose of Cinco de mayo. To
remember those who gave their lives for their country because someone else had intentions
to take it for themselves. We celebrate with food, festivals, parties, and many other
traditions. and lets not forget to recognize the leaders who also did great things for their
country.
