Instructional Procedures YMCA (young Men’s Christian Association) was founded by Dwight L. Moody, one of America’s greatest
evangelists. He was just a simple shoe salesman in Chicago that one day, a certain Sunday School teacher
bought one pair of shoes from him that lead to the sharing of the gospel.

Question: What was the name of the Sunday School teacher who led Dwight L. Moody to the Lord?

William Carey has been called the “father of modern missions.” He saw how difficult it was for missionaries
to gain the necessary support and the resources they need. As a result, he helped organized the English
Baptist Missionary Society. Their population increased as the Lord led.

William Carey was also one of the first missionaries to India which made his steps as one of the most
important works in the entire world.

Question: What person financed Mr. Carey’s first trip to India?

The archaeologist discovered the great discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls which contained the ancient
texts on the parts of the old testament which originally were from the Old and New Testament era.
The Dead Sea Scrolls make up the oldest existing manuscripts of the Bible in any language.

A shepherd boy found them in a cave south of Jericho.

Today there are many who lack the confidence and are unsure of themselves. This is because their
confidence is misplaced.

Principles of Confidence:

Principle 1: God’s Creation

You are God’s unique creation which means that there is no one else in all the world just like you. God
wants you to be you as He desires only the best.

Principle 2: God’s Opinion

It is only natural that you care of what people think about you but it is only God’s opinion of you that
really counts in this life – and for eternity because He is the only one that will never leave you, nor forsake
you (Deuteronomy 31:6) as some friends are.

Principle 3: God’s Plan

Although it may not seem like it at times, God has a specific plan for your life because He has been
constantly working your eternal plan.

These principles clearly made a difference in Timothy’s life for he has been giving it a great responsibility
over the church of Ephesus by the Apostle Paul. This was established by a great and strong leader which
was definitely not Timothy. He was shy, indecisive, emotionally weak and inexperienced but when Paul
warned him of false teachers, liars, blasphemers and persecution he would face. But when Timothy got a
share of this great work, he was then strengthened by God through letters of encouragement, rebuke and
instruction which made Timothy believe in himself and to God.

And now, his work is considered as one of the most established and well-known during that time.
Guided Strategies Used:
Practice / Reflective Teaching - the teacher relates and tries to imply to the students on how they can use the
Instructional Strategies
character/value exemplified in the story.
Teacher Discussion – teacher literates and discusses the lesson on Timothy and the other characters
mention above.
Guided Question – to give the flow on what could happen in the next part.
Role Play – students get to artistically portray people with the lack of confidence and on how they could
overcome this fear and anxiety.
Group Discussion – Engaging students in discussion deepens their learning and motivation by propelling
them to develop their own views and hear their own voices. A good environment for interaction is the first
step in encouraging students to talk.
Humor in the Classroom - Using humor in the classroom can enhance student learning by improving
understanding and retention.
REFLECTION
Closure The teacher will recap the lessons. Conclusion: The student should know the importance and value of having
the trait of being confident. It is as important as other traits because it is one of the skills that could be
measured in facing other people. This fear and lack of confidence may be, as a result, of incompetence in
their future careers, a hindrance in other words.

What can I do to overcome this feel/anxiety?

ACTION
Reinforcement or Assignment The students will then be asked to write his/her insecurities and needs on their paper and reflect on how
it has caused and slowed them down. They will also share on how they had/will change and use these
insecurities for their betterment as a person. To be passed on the next session.
EVALUATION
Assessment Oral Questioning and through a short skit that depicts the youth today, lack of confidence to spread the
word of God and lack on how to be more like Him.
