Electrical Grounding
The word ground is commonly used to cover both
system ground and equipment ground
A system ground is a connection to ground from one of the
current carrying conductors of the distribution system.
It represents an electrical path, normally designed to carry
fault current when a insulation breakdown occurs within an
electrical system.

Reminders
Always use standard grounding clusters.
Use rubber gloves and hot line stick (grip-all)
when installing grounding clusters.
Always follow standard procedures in installing
grounding clusters.

Pole Grounding
Pole ground for concrete and wood poles is defined
as a ground conductor that extends from the overhead static
wire (if present) and/or the system neutral to the ground coil
electrode or ground rod normally situated near the pole butt.
This is essential to provide a common ground for all the pole
components that are required to be grounded.
For steel poles, it is the connection of the pole to the
ground through the anchor bolts bonded to the copper
ground wire coiled at the bottom of the concrete foundation.
