Electoral College
The Electoral College is, the people electing our
president and vice president not by a national vote, but
by an indirect device known as the Electoral College.
The framers of the Constitution set it up this way
because they did not trust the choice of president to a
direct vote of the people.
- It takes a majority of the electoral votes to win. If
no candidate gets a majority the House chooses among
the top three candidates, with each state delegation
having one vote.
