Foreign Invaders: Illegal Immigrants.

JOB DENIED. Thats what typical applicants see when they go into their 5 th job interview this week. And
always in front of an applicant, typically there is a Hispanic, an illegal Hispanic there to claim the job
they were shooting for. This is a job that the government should handle so we can proper here in our
home country. Illegal immigrants come to this country risking everything looking for a better life, while
we as Americans suffer with being unemployed because we cant find a stable job. These Illegal come
here and blow us as Americans chances of having a good life because they think we have the ideal
country so they leave their homes and families and risk getting deported and try to make it work here. In
2008 the immigrant population was well over 5 million. "In October 2008, the illegal immigrant
population stood at 11.9 million according to the Pew Hispanic Center." (NumbersUSA).These
immigrants have a nave state of mind, because with our economy downward spiral, them sneaking over
here isnt making it any better, its actually making it harder on them and us. The government should step
in and remove these illegal immigrants from our country, or make it so Americans can still prosper in
America and not have to struggle to survive in a homeland that was originally theirs instead of watch
others that werent U.S Citizen born doing better than they are doing. Even though this country was built
upon immigration it is now a problem in America because, now with all these illegal immigrants now
converging to our homeland and we are now getting overpopulated. According o the US Census over 12
million illegal immigrants are living and working in the united states (Longley) This overpopulation of
people thats not even supposed to be in this country. This immigrant being here offsets our economy on
a whole other level. They open restaurants, their own businesses, and making money anyway they can. By
them doing this, it takes away from all the opportunities that Americans can have to make money, and
prosper, to make this economy better. The economy is already down with us just being here, with them
here taking up a lot of spaces that we could be using is unfair since we are natives here, and they have to
seek here, to take what we have, or had away from us. Now that thing are here and have many ways of

getting into our country, the government should do something about it. They should buckled down on the
immigration policy, and make more efficient laws so that it wouldnt be so easy to get into our country,
and gain access to all of our benefits that are supposed to be for Americans only. They also offset our
criminal scale and how many drug dealers and killers are already here, they double it and cause more
problems for our legal system, and thats more money out of Americans pockets to pay for incarcerated
illegal, that should be here and therefore a waste of money, money which most people cant spare. The
huge illegal alien population present in the United States has a significant impact on the criminal justice
system and on national security as well. While it is extremely difficult to provide a firm number as to the
number of illegal aliens who are involved in serious criminal activities in the United States, I believe we
can get a sense of the magnitude of the problem by considering some statistics I am familiar with. At
present it is estimated that some 30% of the inmate population are identified as being foreign born.
(IMMIGRATION ISSUES) The illegal aliens here think they are making there lives better by being here,
but they are only bringing our economy down which will in turn effect them too when there are no more
jobs to offer after the ones before them have already taken them all. On top on being here for free, they
pay next to no taxes, so, they have no remorse getting tens of billions of dollars worth of free education
benefits, free healthcare, free housing assistance and free food stamp benefits. We also help pay for their
living expenses. We pay are large sum of taxes to support there being here. $1117 - The average amount
you and your family paid in taxes this year to support illegals(Illegal Immigration Statistics) All of
these benefits could be used to help out lower class citizen instead of people who are not even supposed
to be here. These illegal aliens also make our unemployed rate rise unsubstantially, between the times of
2008-2010 over a million extra jobs were obtained by immigrants, while American citizens were left
sitting on their couches unemployed, at the time or losing their jobs.

Illegal immigration has been happening since the founding of America. The origins of illegal
immigration date back all the way to the late 19th century. Illegal Immigration started off by President

Chester A. Arthur banned almost all Chinese immigration, along with them criminals, and the mentally ill
which drew the line for immigrants. Those who were legal, and those that werent, before this they were
banned immigration was rarely regulated. In 1992 Ellis Island was formed and was a meetings ground
for immigrants all over that came in. They were asked a series of questions, had to find and prove they
had relatives, and were check if they were mentally ill. If they didnt pass all of these tests, they werent
allowed in this country and were branded as an illegal immigrant. A large wave sparked from 1821- 1920.
Nearly 23 million immigrants poured into the United States from all over the world.

The graph below shows the history of immigration to The U.S spanning from the 1991s to 2007.
In earlier years immigration wasnt a big dilemma here in the U.S. There was Ellis Island blocking them
off, and there really wasnt a want to venture here. In between 1881 to 1920 there was a large spark of
immigrants coming to the U.S, the largest the country had ever seen before. Now many years later, the
graph shows that the numbers have been topped in 2007, and now many more immigrants have poured
into the country.

Immigrants in the United States

Years
Immigration has had such a detrimental impact on this country, Americans and former American
Leaders have banned together many years ago and formed and Immigration Policy. The Immigration
policy basically is a barrier to maintain and to keep immigration at an all time low, and foretelling the
consequences of being an illegal immigrant while staying in this country. This is warning the immigrants
that if caught as an illegal immigrant they will be incarcerated and deported immediately back to their
country. The policy was supposed to take immigration to a new low, but the plan was flawed. Immigrants
still get into the country and still managed to come back after deportations. That is why president Obama
is working on a plan, President Obama currently realizes that immigration here in the U.S is out of hand,
and needs to get back on track and install a better immigration policy. Stopping illegal immigration also
depends on reforming our outdated system of legal immigration. (Obama) Him knowing this him, and
the rest of our countries leaders came up with idea called the Immigration Reform. The plan is to create
a whole new 21st century immigration system. The new system includes the following: Improving the
system, giving more resources to protect our borders, cracking down on businesses that hired illegal
immigrants and know of their citizenship status, requiring more responsibility from those who live here
illegally.
These illegals come here seeking a better life in our homeland because they know they cant do
any better where they are at. They come here because there is a high crime rate where they are at, a
current drug war, and not enough resources to provide for everyone like we have here in the U.S. They
come here with hopes and dreams and may not get to fulfill them because America has so many
restrictions on them like deportation and detaining them, we are limiting their abilities. They do not only
just bring their families they bring their cultures that we can also learn from. They are also cheap workers,
which would lead to better products, cheaper prices, and a higher income for the businesses. Also it gives

the struggling population all over the world a chance for a better life, this country was founded upon
immigrants, who sought out a opportunity to better themselves and all the rights that we have today.

In retrospect, being illegal is not necessarily a bad thing, but it isnt helping our economy either,
which in turn isnt helping the illegal population out. Them being here brings down our economy, takes
away precious education that we could be using to help our youth, they receive free housing and food
benefits, and they do not pay taxes to help out our government. But also they come here looking for a
better life; the American dream which was built upon immigration. With there hopes and dreams they
could bring new cultures, cheap labor, and new traditions. With alls these factoring in illegal immigrants
could either be a menace to our society, or make it a better place, its up to the government to choose
which one.
