Jim also feels that the monthly Grange board meeting should be held separately from
the potluck because he feels the members are offended by how the meetings are
conducted.
Suggestions Jim made were:
change the monthly pot luck to desert and coffee to include something educational or
entertaining for the community such as a wild fire mitigation and remediation program
(possible that Doug Fritz would present) or music program
The last topic Jim brought up was using funds for community service rather than
building improvement. He suggested the following:
adopt a village for solar pump installation, refer to blog of transitions of a twenty
something
community garden
donate money to local charity i.e. Teens on Farms, Pasta Kids Project (maybe let them
use facility for a fund raising project), scholarships, join proposed project at the CSU
Research Center on Rogers Mesa.
Bill will not be available to attend grange meetings until the end of June due to another
responsibility, but will continue to act as treasurer and provide treasurer reports.
Janet stated that she feels the potluck draws meeting participation and if the board
meeting is held separately that it should continue to be publicized so members still have
an opportunity to participate. Jim would like Grange meetings to be publicized more
than a day in advance.
