A story about, how
the Sputnik 2 and
Vostok 1 launched
from the ground,
to space.
Chapter 1(The Late Afternoon)
It was evening. I was in my bed, trying to
sleep but I couldnt. So I wanted to listen
to a bedtime story, but only my grandpa
knew the best ones. He was telling me
the space race story, because he was
ten when the Sputnik 2 launched and the

other rockets. It was midnight, everyone

was sleeping in my house, Except me. So
i laid in my bed again, but then 5
minutes later i totally decided to go to
my grandpas house to listen to a
bedtime story.
Chapter 2(Journey to Grandpas
house)
I stood up, it was really dark and spooky.
I took of my pyjamas and put on my
jeans and my t-shirt. I took my flashlight,
my iPhone, my jacket, my hat, my
scarf ,my Beats Solo HD and my apple
watch. I checked that my parents were
sleeping, And opened the Door and went
outside. I took the key from the door and
headed to Grandpas house. It was really
spooky and chilly outside. It was a long
journey to grandpas house. It took me a
hour to get to the house. It was kind of
fun walking at night, everyone were
sleeping and it was really quiet. I was
listening to Justin Bieber songs on my
Beats Solo HD.
Chapter 3(Grandpas house)
It was 1am in the morning, i thought i
was sleeping but actually i was standing

in front of my Grandpas door. I pressed

the ring button. I pressed exactly 20
times when someone came out the
door
It was my grandpa in his pyjamas he was
really surprised
What are you doing here at that time
Alex? Grandpa Max said surprised.
I..mmmh, i came to listen to a
bedtime story. Alex said embarrassed
and panicked.,
Do you know whats the time?
Grandpa Max said
Ammm..01:11. Tim said
Do you think that the time for bedtime
stories?! Grandpa Max said a little bit
cross.
Noand sorry for waking you at that
timei will go then Alex said really
sadly.
Wait Alexmaybe you want to stay
becauseGrandpa Max said interrupted
by Alex.
Are you kidding methank you so
much grandpa Alex said happily.
And if you want, i can read a bedtime
story to you if go in bed and go home at
the morning! Grandpa Max said

 Lets go in! Alex said. His grandpa

came in first, and turned on the lights.
So i closed the door behind me, Turned
off the Justin Bieber song on my iPhone,
and putted of my Beats. and putted of
my cloth and jumped on the bed.
Now listen! Grandpa Max said
Chapter 4(The Space Story)
It was 3rd November,1957. It was the
day when Sputnik 2 launched from USSR
launch-station. There were over a
thousand people, looking how the first
satellite with an animal ( a dog called
Laika (Barker)). In the crowd there was
me. I was licking a Eskimo with my sister
Lisa Grandpa said like a real author.
Whats a Eskimo? Is Lisa still
alive?Alex asked him puzzled.
A Eskimo is a ice cream. Grandpa Max
said licking his lips.
What is it made of? Alex asked his
grandpa.
Ohsorry i forgot to tell you the
ingredients, it is made of vanilla and
covered in chocolate. Grandpa Max
said.
Yumlets continue the story. Alex
said licking his lips.

 So then the commentator said. TEN

GOOOOO!!!! Grandpa Max said.
Chapter 5 (It launched!)
The launch of Sputnik 2 was so loud
that everyone would have been deaf if
they didn't close theyre ears. It was so
warm that it felt that the rocket was only
some meters away from the platform,
where everyone were standing and
looking how it went in to the space orbit,
and disappear into space. There was
only one passenger in Sputnik 2, and it
was Laika. For her it was a palace of food
because she was found in the Moscow
streets, she never ate meat or
something fancy. But in Sputnik 2 it was
like heaven for her and a house where
she can sleep and lie down.
Chapter 6 (Sad News about Laika)
But sadly she died in the earth
orbit.Grandpa Max said sadly
No waythats so sad. Alex Said
I learned that, a week later from when
she left from Earth. and thats all for
today. Grandpa Max said
Noplease one more! Alex said
Okbut after that you will go to sleep.

Grandpa Max said

So then 4 years later, in 1961, there
was one more rocket. It was Vostok 1,
with Yuri Gagarin inside. Then the
commentator said TENNINEEIGHT
SEVENSIXFIVEFOURTHREE
TWOONEGOOOOO! Everyone
cheered and clapped, when Vostok 1
slowly lifted from the ground. The
Flames were so hot that my ice creams
melted because of the heat that Vostok
1 made. Then some hours later he was
back to USSR. His capsule landed in a
village, some kilometres away from
Moscow. He was the most famous person
in USSR for that time.
Chapter 7 (The End)
And that the end. Grandpa Max said.
Ok then Good Night.Alex said.
Good night. Grandpa Max said.
