Human Evolution Essay by: Chris Hoffmann

Human evolution brings quite a bit of different opinions out of people.
There is people that strongly believe it, people that kind of believe it, and
people that dont believe it at all. Human evolution is a theory every single
person should know about because its a theory on how we as humans
evolved into ourselves. There is a quote that says For the first time in
human evolution, the individual life is long enough, and the cultural
transformation swift enough, that the individual mind is now a constituent
player in the global transformation of human culture.- William Irwin
Thompson. Thompson compares our minds to being like a player. This is
because our mind sees things cultural changes so fast in human culture it
has to keep up.
I truly believe that God created all life. I get the reason people believe
humans came from chimpanzees but God is the one that created everything
living on earth. When God created life all living things that is now living or
lived before us or evolved out of other life happened because God wanted it
to happen. There is some people that believe in human evolution but God
came before everything so he is the one that began the chain of life or life
cycle. Chimpanzees and fossils came from animals which are creatures God
created. Whether they evolved into us or not it doesnt really matter because

God created them. This is why I think God and human evolution are actually
connected.
In the theory of human evolution when chimpanzees really started to
evolve into real human beings is when a being called Australopithecus
Afarensis evolved into the Homo habilis. If you look at a homo habiliss face
you can start to see the shape forming into one similar to a humans. Since
we share about 99% of our DNA with chimpanzees, its not really a mystery
why people believe in the theory of evolution. Then there are thousands of
other fossils that are lined up with the theory too for evidence. These fossils
are what made scientists start researching about this philosophy. In human
evolution it says that all mammals are connected. Whales have lungs that
breathe air, chimps have lungs that breathe air, birds have lungs that
breathe air but lungs are just the natural way for breathing in mammals so
why is this a big deal? The reason I think scientists might think this is a big
deal is because if all mammals have lungs, then did chimps originally have
one human part then evolve having more and more human parts and
eventually just evolved into a human. There is more evidence out there than
that and the biggest one is the skeleton. Scientists discovered the fossil of
the Australopithecus and named it Lucy showing similar traits to a humans
but not exactly correct. The Australopithecus have traits like the same body
shape but having a smaller one. The brain size of an Australopithecus is
smaller than a humans too. The brain size of an Australopithecus is less than

500 cubic centimeters and the brain size of a modern human is above 1000
cubic centimeters.
There are three major groups in the human evolution tree. The three
branches are different species of what supposedly evolved into us today. One
of the branches is a group called Paranthropus. The Paranthropus group has
the paranthropus boisei, the paranthropus robustus, and other fossils too.
The second branch is the one that is home to Lucy which is the
Australopithecus group. This group is home to the anamensis, afarensis,
garhi, and africanus. This group came millions of years ago. The third branch
is the group Homo. This group is the group us Homo sapiens are in, the
habilis, rudolfensis, erectus, floresiensis, and the heidelbergensis. This group
is the most modern group of the human evolution tree that is why the Homo
sapiens are part of it.
God created all these species using his will. What scientists find out
about human evolution is just more theyre finding out about what God has
created. These life forms that may or may not have evolved into humans
have evolved into one of millions of other species that exist here on earth.
There is one common thing about all these species that we should know and
it is that God created them.
