    AnimalsshouldhaveaBillofRightstofurtherenforcetheirsafetyandprotectionfrom
    humans.WithoutaBillofRightsanimalsarentproperlybeingprotectedunderthelaw,and
    somepeopledontrespectanimalsenoughtotreatthemrightwithoutthelawprotectingthem.
    SomethinkthatanimalsdontdeserveaBillofRightsbecausetheyarenthumanandwont
    utilizetheirrights.Therearestillmanyreasonthatweshouldgiveanimalsrightsbecausethey
    shouldn'tbetreatedanyworsethanhumans.
    OneofthereasonsthatanimalsshouldhaveaBillofRightsisthattheyhavemore
    humanlikequalitiesthanmostpeopleexpect.Therehavebeenmanyinstancesthathaveproven
    thatanimalsaremorelikehumansthanyouwouldthink.Forexampletheyhavefoundthatpigs
    craveaffectionandareeasilydepressedifisolatedordeniedplaytimewitheachother(Rifkin,
    4),whichshowsthattheyneedtohaveinteractionswithotherstobehealthy.Thiswasjustone
    ofthemanyinstancesthatshowshumanlikequalitiesinanimals.Anotheranimalthatshows
    humanlikequalitiesisaratthebrainchemistryofratsshowthatwhentheyplay,theirbrains
    releaselargeamountsofdopamine,aneurochemicalassociatedwithpleasureandexcitementin
    humanbeings(Rifkin,12),withthisstudyitshowedthatevenratshavehumanqualities.These
    arejustafewreasonstoprotectanimals.

    Somepeoplebringupthepointofhowarewegoingtoseparatewhichanimalswere
    goingtoprotectbecausetherearewildanimals,pets,andlivestocksohowdowechoosethe
    protectionsofdifferentanimals.Iwouldsaythatanimalsthatwegetattachedtoandname
    shouldhavefullprotectionunderthelaw,butlivestockissomethingwebreedtoeatandarekept
    inthemostinhumaneconditionsbutInGermany,thegovernmentisencouragingpigfarmersto
    giveeachpig20secondsofhumancontacteachdaytoprovidethemwithtoys(Rifkin,5).This
    showsthatatleastinGermanytheyarepushingforbettertreatmentoffarmanimals.Animalsin
    thewildshouldbeprotectedaswellbutonlytoacertainextentbecauseifahumanisinthewild
    ananimallikeawolfisntgoingtocareabouthumanrights.Thisstilldoesntmeanweshould
    justgooutandhuntanimalsbecauseanimalsstillfeelgriefforexampleElephantswilloften
    standnexttotheirdeadkinfordays(Rifkin,11).Thisjustfurtherprovesthatabillofrightsfor
    animalswouldbeextremelyusefulinprotectinganimals.
    AnotherthingananimalBillofRightswouldhelpprotectthemfromdangerous
    experimentsandtests.AnimalsarewrongfullytestedsincetheFDAdoesmandatethatallnew
    drugsbetestedonanimals,evenwherenolinkexistsbetweentheparticularexperimentand
    humanconsumptionstandards(ALDF,2).Itissadthateveniftheexperimentisntsafefor
    humanswestilltestitonanimalsthathavenowordonwhetherornottheyhavetodoit.There
    hasstillbeenalotofadvancementstowardsanimalsafetyinlabtests,forinstanceonce
    chimpanzeesaredonegettingexperimentedontheycannowberelocatedtoplaceslike
    ChimpHaven,anoutdoorfacilitythatactsasaretirementhome(Yong,13).Testingonanimals
    isahardsubjectbecausemanyarguethatitisbettertotestonanimalsthanhumansandthatis
    true,buttherearemanyotheralternativestotestingonanimals.Inthelastcoupleyearssciences

    haveadvancedtoapointwherewedontneedtotestonanimalsbecausewecantestontissue
    sampleswhichissaferforeverybody.Thisisjustoneofthemanywayswecanmake
    experimentssaferforanimalsandforhumans.
    AnanimalBillofRightswouldbethesafestforeverybodyandwouldsavealotof
    animalsfromharshandinhumanetreatments.Animalsneedtobeprotectedsincemanyofthem
    cantprotectthemselvesandapproximately7.6millionanimalssufferfromanimalabuseinthe
    UnitedStateseveryyear.Thisisunacceptablesincetheydontdoanythingtodeservebeing
    constantlymistreatedbysomanyhorriblepeoplethatcandothis.Soweshouldjusthurryupand
    passthisBillofRightstosaveallofthesepooranimalsfromthiseveryday.
