VUE Vall May 5, 2010 Dear Friend, Happy Mother's Day. Tam the proud mother of Terrence Wall, the tenth of my eleven children. By nature, I am a quiet and private person, so even my writing a letter such as this is out of the ordinary. But I think itis time to do something about fixing our country. Afterall, if my son is willing to get involved, then I am too. Mothers, by nature, worry. Like many of us following the election of 2008, I had prayed that things were going to get better, Instead, things have gotten drastically worse, and it’s not just us moms worrying anymore: everyone is, worrying. And now my son has decided to do something about it. Terrence decided to run for the United States Senate. Since last October, he has been working tirelessly to turn this country around. I know he is the right person for the job. He is incredibly persistent and resilient. ‘At age six, we discovered that Terrence had a birth defect in his heart that required surgery and a three-and-a-half month hospital stay. At the time, we didn’t know if he would make it through, but even at that young age he showed strength and resolve. T also taught my son core values: faith, respect for others, love of family and country, and a charitable heart. These traits, combined with his love of the outdoors, made becoming an Eagle Scout a natural progression. He also has an incredibly strong work ethic, At age 11, Terrence would be up before all of us at 4:00 a.m, delivering newspapers on his bicycle before school. He has always been a determined, energetic, and enterprising young man, ‘When problems arise, he doesn’t complain, he figures out a way to fix them, He is an eternally optimistic, level- headed, solution-oriented person. Qualities I know will serve our country well. | know the boy Terrence was, the man he is, and the Senator he will be. With all the pride, love and support as his mom, as well as a mother’s apprehension about the future of this country, | encourage you to support my son today as well as by voting in the primary on September L4th and again on November 2nd in the general election. ‘Moms - you are special. I hope that you enjoy a beautiful Mother's Day with your family. God bless both you. Sincerely, JoAnne Wall
