As UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson put it, Trafficking is
inherently discriminatory. In the case of trafficking into the global sex industry, we are talking
about men from relatively prosperous countries paying for the sexual services of women and
girls and sometimes man and boys from less wealthy countries. This is more than a labour

rights issue or an issue of unequal development. It is a basic human rights issue because it
involves such a massive and harmful form of discrimination. There has been not a lot of talk
about weither skin color or forms of discrimination affect the probability of becoming a victim..
However, when you look at the women who are a victim of trafficking, it becomes more clear of
discrimination.. Moreover, skin color and economics may not be an only factor of what women
are targeted.
Human trafficking is a worldwide phenomenon. The US State Department measures each nation
for the efforts to stop the trafficking and forced labor. tr. Each nation is measured against the tier
system. Tier one is for countries who have deleted out most of trafficking and forced labour . Tier
two means that a country does not completely meet the standards put in place but are trying and
making a dent in the end to trafficking. Tier two Watch List is for countries that have made
serious efforts but still has a big problem with it, so the government watches them. Tier three is
for the countries that arent trying to stop trafficking. Africa and Asia have been ranked as a
variety of tier 2, watch list and tier 3 throughout the country. Russia has completely fallen to the
ranking of tier 3.
Throughout the world men, women, and children are tricked and forced into a world of the
unthinkable. After being tricked into a world of sex, drugs, and abuse, victims experience a
trauma that can be truly devastating. human trafficking goes deeper than just women sex slaves..
Race and other forms of discrimination contribute to the likelihood of women and girls who
become victims of trafficking. Human trafficking is beyond a worldwide phenomenon. Gender,

race, ethnicity and location all contribute to a victim being abducted into the world of human
trafficking.
