Step 1 Professional Growth Goal (specific): To improve my teaching effectiveness in the Schools
Greatest Area of Need Subject and Indicators. The subject is Math and the Indicators are
Number Identification, Addition and Subtraction, and Composing and Decomposing numbers.

curriculum recognizing the needs, learning styles, and performance of diverse learners.

Step 2 Your rationale for choosing this goal.


If I improve my effectiveness in teaching Math and Indicators for Number Identification, Addition and
Subtraction, and Composing and Decomposing Numbers, then my student outcomes improve.
- Kindergarten SMART Goal: At least 70% of every Kindergarten class will be proficient by scoring
at least 80% in number identification, addition and subtraction, and composing and decomposing
numbers (foundation for place value) as measured by the SMART Goal Test given in September and at
the end of second, third, and fourth quarter.

LESSON PLANS/ STUDENT WORK:
- Teacher will compile lesson plans, unit plans, and/ or curriculum maps that are aligned with the
adopted curriculum, geared to the students various learning styles, needs, and performance of diverse
learners. Student work will also be provided as samples.
FORMS/ REPORTS:
- Student Test Summary Spreadsheet: Techer administer the Math and English/ Language Arts
Common Formative Assessments (CFA) to each student at the beginning and at the end of every
quarter. Student scores will be compiled on a spread sheet, indicating tier levels and student growth
throughout the quarter.
ASSESSMENTS:
- AIMS Web Scores/ Probes: Teacher will administer the AIMS Web Assessment 3 times within the
school year to determine mastery of rote counting (1-100), number identification (0-10), quantity
discrimination (more or less), and missing number (number sequence). Student scores will be shared
with parents to see student growth and/or areas of improvement.
- SMART Goal Test: Teacher will administer the Kindergarten SMART Goal Test 4 times within the
school year to determine mastery of GAN (greatest areas of need) skills. SMART Goal Test will be
administered in September (beginning of the year), at the end of 2nd quarter, at the end of 3rd quarter,
and at the end of 4th quarter (April). Student scores will be shared with parents to see student growth
and/ or areas of improvement.

- Throughout the year, the teacher will compose a student profile of each students strengths,

- I will reflect on my lesson plans and how the activities and lessons Ive taught have helped my
students improve, as well as lessons that have worked and didnt work and ways to improve. I will use
charts and graphs to help monitor progress. The charts and graphs will show students growth
throughout the year.
