1. For someone working in your field, please describe the fantasies versus realities of the job.
(fantasy vs. reality) the fantasies are that Im able to help everyone that needs care. The reality is that in some
cases Im not able or dont know how to take care of an individual. Also this job is very demanding, physically
and mentally.

2. What is your current educational level? What continuing education and training are required?
(educational level and requirements) I have a BSN and currently working on a masters degree. Always updating
training each year in my field.

3. Please describe the typical day to day activities of someone working in your field.
(day-to-day activities) exams: physical, eye, spine exams. Provide health counseling, give medication

4. How secure are you in your current position? What do you think is the future of your field?
(job security) very secure. There will always be a need for nurses. There will be an increase in nurses in the up
and coming years.

(salary) 60,000-75,000. Can go up depending on specialty you choose.

6. What potential for growth is there in your field?


(growth potential) becoming a nurse practitioner

7. Do you wish you would have picked a different career now that you have been in this field for awhile?
No, I love the job I have and Im happy to have chosen the career that I have today. This job is very rewarding and
I wouldnt trade it for anything else.

8. What advice do you have for someone wanting to pursue the same career that you have?
Pay attention in nursing school, and keep up with new techniques

9. Do you plan to do anything different career wise after you retire?


No, not at this time

10. Do you believe that the public is well informed of the duties you perform day to day?

No I believe that people think that this job is easy and that anybody can do it.
