Journal Week 1

Sunday 21-2-2016

It was my first day in AL-Resalah International School of Science and I was very excited to
start my TP in this school to know and learn more about teaching skills and dealing with the
children. I arrived into the school before 7: 30 AM. Then, I saw Ms. Heba (School TP
Coordinator), she greet me and I introduced myself. After that, I meet Ms. Hira (My MST)
she was smiling and welcomed me in a nice way which let me feel comfortable and happiness
because she will become my MST. Then I meet the children and it was very nice to meet
these cuties children because their reaction to my presence was positive but only one student
was unable to accept and my presence. In the end of the first day, I and my friends meet the
other teachers in the break and they have welcomed us and talk with us in a nice way which
help me to feel more comfortable to come to AL Resalah School. In the end, I went back to
the house and entered into a deep sleep due to fatigue but that day will be an unforgettable
day.

Monday 22-2-2016
On the second day, I observe the teacher from the first class and that thing that I didnt like it
is that the children they dont have circle time. Thus, I start to make a plan to include the
circle time to help the children to be fresh and warm up them by using the morning gathering.
In the break, I asked my teacher to give me the first page of the booklet which include her
sign because I will keep it as evidence. Then I attend the last two classes and I saw that the
children didnt have a hands-on activities and they follow the book tasks which didnt support
the children abilities.

Tuesday 23-2-2016

I start my day by standing behind the children to start the morning assembly. The children
were active and some of them hug me when they saw me and it makes me happy because my
children know me and didnt forget who I am. During the assembly, I observed the other

teacher to learn what the routine is and how they move into the morning assembly. Then I
and the children we move to the classroom by making a line. After that, I start observing my
MST because then I should follow the routine with the children in the next days. Then the
children move to the English class and I sit with my MST to collect some papers such as class
timetable, school curriculum and students names list. I am sad because the teacher didnt
explains the whole curriculum for me. Just giving me the curriculum paper without
explaining any part of it let my feeling change which effect on my attendance during the
classes. Then I start to take some information about the curriculum from the assistant and my
friends because in the next days I will teach parts of the curriculum.

Wednesday 24-2-2016

I entered to the school and sit in the playing yard to start the morning assembly. Then we
move to the classroom and I started the new routine with the children and it includes sing the
good morning and hello songs, doing the attendance, reading Holly Quran and do some
review. The children were happy because they engage in singing song and reading Holly
Quran which helps them to be ready to gain new knowledge.

After the break, I want to the classroom to organize my materials and the classroom
environment to make the children be happy to gain extra knowledge. I was enthusiastic
because I will teach my first lesson about plants. During the lesson, I noticed that the children
were happy because it was the first time for them to engage in hands-on activities which
develop their creativity skills. Plants lesson was the first lesson, I include the differentiation
into it and the children were able to engage to the activities and complete it without any
difficulty. I felt happy because I apply the differentiations method and it was easy to assess
the children understanding.

Journal Week 2

Sunday 28-2-2016

I started my day by attend the morning assembly and I stand with the children and do like
what they do during the assembly because I am like a role-model to them and they copy my
behaviours which commit the morning routine. After the assembly, I move to the classroom
and start the routine on the circle time. After the circle time, I took a promotion from my
MST to establish the new rules for the children because the last week I saw that they didnt
commit any rules and they were extremely messy. Then I start to illustrate the rules by using
signs and ask them open-ended questions about the benefits of committing the rules. The
children were active and recognize the important of commit the rules. After that, I start to
observe the children and some of them try to improve his/her behaviours through commit the
rules. That let me feel proud of what I did with them to develop their behaviours positively.

Monday 29-2-2016
I was very tired because I didnt sleep and stay the whole night preparing the activities for the
letter L lesson which I will teach it on Tuesday the first of March. I started my day by
organized the children to practice in the morning assembly. Then I attend to the class to start
the circle time. However, I faced a difficulty in dealing with special need students because
they were extremely active which effect on their friends attentions negatively. Then I solve
the problem by managing them through turn on a movement video which let them focus and
manage their behaviours. Then the day moved normal and I went to the house to complete
preparing my materials for the next days lesson.

Tuesday 1-3-2016

It was an expected day because Ms. Tony will visit AL Soundos Kindergarten to observe and
evaluate me. I started my day by engaging the children in practicing with me during the
morning assembly. Then we Ms. Toni and Ms. Mariam interred to my class, I stared the
routine with the children in the circle area. After that, I started a English lesson which is

about Letter L. I feel happy and satisfied with my performance in teaching because the
students were active with me and answer my questions. In addition, the students interacted
with my activities and completed quickly. The lesson moves smoothly because I plan for the
whole lesson and I organized my materials. Also, I apply the rules and the children were
engage with me positively. In the break, Ms. Toni and Ms. Mariam told me the benefits of
my lesson. Then they move to the point that I should develop it which are manage the
children and avoid the long time sitting in the circle time. However, my opinion is that the
children not under the control little a pet because it was the second week for me in the school
and the children didnt have a capacity to engage in my lesson during someone else sit in the
class to observe me and the children. Also, I didnt take long time for the circle because Ms.
Toni and Ms. Mariam comes late and the period was nearly to finish.

Wednesday 2-3-2016

The interesting thing that happen today is listening to the children during the launch time. I
noticed that the children during the lunch time they talk about what they learned. Also, they
link their life experience with what they learned. It was a nice observing time because I
recognised their characters which will help me to identify more about their abilities and
thinking skills.

Before I leave the school I sit with other teachers to observe the children until their parents
come to pick them. Also, I played with some children until their parents come and I had a lot
of fun with them. But when I remembered that I will see them after 4 days, I filled sad.

Journal Week 3

Sunday 6-3-2016

I arrived early morning to the kindergarten and I organized the classroom for my children.
Then I sit in the entrance gate to receiving the children. I was responsible for receiving the
children for the cars and the other teacher receiving the other children from the buses. After
finishing the morning shift, my MST and I ask our students to get in line to start the morning
assembly. Then I took my students to the classroom and start the circle time with our routine.
The children were active and pay attention to me which help me to complete the routine
smoothly without any mess. During the next classes, I observed two special need students to
complete the observation task number two in the booklet. I completed the table only and it
was hard to me to observe two SN children in the same time and identify the teacher
strategies that applied for the special need students. Then, I started answering the task
questions but I didnt have enough time to complete it because the school day finish. Then I
arrived to my house and started completing the questions answer.

Monday 7-3-2016

I begin my day by doing my attendance then I organized my materials for the circle time.
Then I stand in the yard to start the morning assembly with the children. During the assembly
one of the KGs classes stand opposite the whole students and did a moving and singing
activity. The children were active which let the other students feel happy to engage in
movement activity. After the assembly morning, I start the routine then the teacher started
teaching them a new lesson. What I didnt like it that the teacher let the children to copy the
answer from the board which let them stop thinking who to answer the book tasks. Also, that
let the children to finish the task and go to play without be interesting to gain new knowledge.
This is a bad thing to force the children in doing something they didnt want to do it or their
abilities didnt fit with it. I hope that the school change the curriculum or develop it.

Tuesday 8-3-2016

I entered to the school then I stand in the yard until the children arrive. After that, I start to
observe the children when they play in the yard until 8:00 AM then I ask the children to get
in a line to start the morning assembly. After the morning assembly, I took my children to the
classroom and sit on the carpet to start the circle time which include the morning routine.
In the end of my day in the kindergarten, I sit in the entrance gate until the parents come to
pick their children. I saw one mother started talking with her son about his day before she
leave. I recognized that the mother was identifying if his son gain new knowledge and enrich
his information. Directly, I remembered my Mom and my Dad when they were asking me
about my day in the school and how I participate during the lessons. This is a good way to
develop the relationship between the parent and the child which helps the parent to be
connected all the time with the child.

Wednesday 9-3-2016
I attend to the school and I did my attendance then make sure that the classroom environment
arranged well to make it a safe and comfortable environment for my children. Then I want to
the playing yard because should observe the children until the morning assembly begin. I
played with the children little pet until 8 AM then I manage my children in their line to start
the morning assembly. After the assembly, the children practice during the circle time in an
active way which help to complete the review and identify what part of the theme that they
didnt understand it. Then I complete the school day without any interesting actions.

Journal Week 4
Sunday 10-4-2016
As always, I organized the children in two line to start the morning assembly then we moved
to start the circle time. Then, I didnt do any think just observe the children to complete the
first task in the booklet. However, I didnt like the tasks questions because I identify that
some questions are repeated but in a different formula. When I finished answering some
questions, I turn on a movement video to let the children engage in active activity which
helps them feel fresh and capable to gain new knowledge. Then, the teacher started teaching
new lesson and I started preparing for differentiation activities for the next lesson which I
will teach it to the children tomorrow.
Monday 11-4-2016
I came from early morning because I was excited to teach my children a lesson about baby
animals. I felt comfortable when I taught my children a Science lesson rather than English
lesson. As the children practice with me in a Science lesson more than in a English lesson.
My opinion about the lesson is it was successful and I used my prize system which was
effective positively in managing children behaviours. I will apply the reward system in the
next TP because it develops the children behaviours positivity.

Tuesday 12-4-2016
In this day, I didnt teach any lesson because I started completing my booklet and take some
pictures to put it in the booklet. Then I set with my students and start to play music with
doing some moving and they like what I did and they ask me for more. After that, I move
with the children to the playing yard to observe the children. After the playing time, the
children ate their meals then they moved to the circle time to listen to a story. During the
story time, I observe the teacher and the children but I didnt like the introduction of the story
because the teacher didnt engage the children in open-ended questions. I believe if the
teacher engage the children during the story that will help them to develop their cognitive
skills. Also, it will help the teacher in developing her childrens abilities by using funny way
such as reading story or acting the story.

Wednesday 13-4-2016
I came to the school from early morning to organize my class and my materials because I will
teach my students new 2D shapes. Then I attend the morning assembly with children until we
move to the class and sit in the circle area. After the circle time, I started teaching my
children one of the 2D shapes which is the triangle. I explain the lesson and the children were
active which helps me to achieve my learning outcomes. I learned today the important of
observing the children during the activities time because it helps me to evaluate the children
understanding.

After the break, I started completing my booklet tasks and I asked my friends the questions
that I didnt understand it. However, I didnt complete the whole tasks and I keep some
questions to answer it after the school time.

Journal Week 5

Sunday 17-4-2016
I was frequently sick and I didnt do anything accept to sit in the classroom and observe the
children. Before the third period, my MST asked me to leave and she said that she will not
tell anyone that I leaved early. However, I remember Ms. Tonis lesson about the
professionalism and we should commit the rule. Then I told my MST that I will sit in the end
of the day and if I want to leave, I will inform Ms. Heba. In the end, I thanks her and I told
her that I should commit the rule as any normal teacher in this school.
Monday 18-4-2016
Early morning before 7:30 AM I started to preparing and organizing the materials for the
letter G lesson that I will teach. Then my children started to stand in the morning assembly
yard. During the assembly, I engaged with my children and does some exercise to let them
feel happy and be active. After finishing the assembly, I move to the classroom with my MST
and then I started to teach the lesson by beginning with the routine. During the lesson, my
MST was observing me to evaluate my teaching and complete the evaluation papers.
In the end, I want to say that my children enjoyed with me, they were very active and
involved on the activities. When I finished my lesson which is about letter G, Ms. Hira give
me a nicely and clearly feedback which will help me to improve and develop my teaching
skills. I was very happy because I did a great job and Ms. Hira was listening to me without
feeling bored.
Tuesday 19-4-2016
It is the last day for me in AL-Resalah International School of Science. First I did the
morning assembly with the children then I entered the class to teach the children the last
lesson which is about addition procces then I took from my MST the evaluation paper. Before
the last three periods, I entered to a meeting with my friends, other teacher and the supervisor.
That meeting was about the skills that we develop it during the TP and the suggestions that
we want the school to apply it. I suggest that they should include different learning centres
because it will help them to develop the children skills or talents through art and hands-on

activities. Also, if they will use the books, they should let the children think to answer the
questions not just copping the answer which effect on their abilities negatively.
In this day, Ms. Hira give me a gift and Ms. Heba give me the certificate. It is a nice
certificate and brilliant gift. Before the end of the school day, the children thanks me and I
thanks all the students and Ms. Hira because I had lots of fun during my TP. I enjoy too much
with the children today. In the end, we start to say bye and some students start to hug me.
Coming to the school today was very difficult to me because it's the last day but I will go to
see them once more before their graduation party. Also, I will prepare for my MST a gift and
for each student a certificate and I will give it to them before the graduations party.
I will miss Ms. Hira and my lovely children. I wish all the best for my MST and my sweet
children.
