Smoking Kills
When cigarettes were introduced into the world, advertisements persuaded the American
people that smoking was a conditioning boost and helped provide relaxing fresh air with a
flavored taste. However, smoking cigarettes cause problems in the human body and introduces
numerous failing situations that are irreversibly destructive. People do not care or still do not
believe the dangers of a cigarette and make the decision to inhale toxic chemicals into their
healthy lungs anyway. This video presents the truth about the consumption of cigarettes and the
increase in disease throughout the body. It explains the negative stages of smoking and the
decreasing levels of the body (Smoking). Claiming the body will increase of heart attacks,
reducing oxygen levels, and even produce blood clots because of the ingredients and materials in
the cigarette. The contents are dangerous and provide horrific chemicals like stem reclaim, recon,
and tobacco. Those materials produce black tar within the lungs and around the body. It also
expresses the truth about people when they quit smoking and how the bodys health dramatically
changes during the stopping process. Both users and non-users were interviewed about smoking
and provided educational facts that show the truth about cigarettes which changed the minds of
tobacco users (Smoking). Precipitating, proximate, and sufficient causes in the Smoking
documentary aims to prove the positive outcomes when quitting the toxic routine and negative
outcomes to the people who continue this destructive habit.

People who smoke experience the dangers of exposure to chemicals which increases
damage to the sense of smell. This is presenting a precipitating cause because smoking brings an
undesirable transformation in the nose and changes the judgment of what the people smell
(Smoking). The Smoking documentary states, smoking cigarettes effects the nose and
damages the ability to smell. Scientists from Science News know that animals damage their
olfactory receptor cells when exposed to cigarette smoke; similar conflicts begin in the nose
when people start the destructive pattern (Science News). Having trouble smelling can cause
several problems to the safety in life such as, smelling gas, toxic chemicals, and even fire. People
who choose to smoke will begin to understand the frightening outcome inside and out of their
body and not having the ability to smell fresh food, flowers, candles, or any other pleasing
refreshments. Evidence makes this argument plausible because the proven facts about smoking
causes the nose to decrease the function to smell. It also effects safety from dangerous chemicals
around the person. The audience can conclude that the exposure to cigarettes will increase the
chances of negative symptoms to the human nose and present the process of not having the
capability to smell.
Americans who smoke cigarettes and who are exposed to the smoke will increase the
chances of diagnoses with irreversible blindness. This proximate cause is demonstrated because
smoking decreases the vision in an eye and produces irreversible damage. Peoples eyes can go
through negative symptoms because of the toxics in the smoke and in the cigarette (Smoking).
Smoke can burn and cause redness in the eye, but the cigarette ingredients causes vision loss.
The Smoking documentary video explains that smoking cigarettes increases the side effect of
vision loss and permanent issues to the eye. Some chemicals in the cigarette causes diseases that
affect the eye and sight. New York State Department of Health showed smoking produces the

Coyle 3
risk of cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, and other harmful diseases that cause irreversible
problems to the human eye. These diseases destroy the body and even causes conflicts to the eye
because the toxic air coming out of the cigarette. This argument seems to be trustworthy because
smoking damages all sorts of the body which causes significant ruin to the vision in the eye with
redness and blindness. The audience is left with the fact that the American people who continue
to smoke will experience damage throughout their bodies and will increase the chances of
irreversible blindness.
Smokers who decide to terminate the consumption of cigarettes will witness the positive
outcomes to their health. They will also experience dramatic changes in their body. This
sufficient cause is being introduced because stopping the dangerous habit increases the positive
effects towards the body over time. When people stop smoking, they live life in a positive
direction and it is enough to change the persons health. The Smoking documentary video
explains that quitting is difficult for some people, but the changing process brings a positive
transformation in the human body such as health and mood. American researchers from Daily
Mail newspaper reported that quitting smoking makes people happier, and the effects lasts for as
long as they manage to destroy the habit. Both pieces of information are comparable because
smoking for a long time, then stopping changes the energy levels in the human body and present
progressive outcomes later on in life. The audience concludes the information is believable
because changing the decision to smoke or be around smoke will increase the positive effects in
health, energy, and mood. Instead of breathing toxic fumes from a paper roll filled with
chemicals, people who quit will breath fresh air and live happier lives.
Smokers who continue to inhale their life away will go through an aging process that
makes the smoking society project an older image. A sufficient cause is represented because

Coyle 4
smoking for a long period of time takes a negative route towards their age and destroys their
appearance. The Smoking documentary video explains that smoking damages the blood which
causes problems for the skin cells; making the smokers presence look older than normal. It also
stated, even if the smoker decides to quit, the damage is permanent and cannot get rid of the
aging process (Smoking). Howard Zucker of the Department of Health study showed that
smoking promotes the positive chance of age-related macular degeneration and explains that the
persons image will began to look elder overtime. Those two arguments are similar and connect
because the smoker dangers the skin cells and produces a negative look on the skin itself. The
information explained is believable because inhaling toxic chemicals harms the blood, therefore
causes problems for the image of the skin. Smokers are presented with a scare tactic to present
the truth about smoking and negative outcomes it has on the skin, hoping to use fear of aging
quicker as a way to force them to quit smoking.
People who smoke or decide to hang around the toxic chemicals fuming out of the
cigarette will live an unhealthy lifestyle inside and out. The precipitating cause in the Smoking
documentary video demonstrates believable facts about smoking will cause negative symptoms
for the function in the human nose. The video expresses the proximate cause because breathing
the cigarette materials decreases the persons vision and harm the eye itself. Sufficient causes
were introduced in the video because people who do not quit will go through an aging phase that
will be permanent on persons appearance. It also makes an amazing change in life to quit
smoking will increase in positive health. The Smoking documentary video presents a
trustworthy source for information about the dangerous habit because the facts are logical and
contracted accurately to persuade the audience that smoking kills life inside and out of the

Coyle 5
human body. The accurate information is reliable to non-smokers and smokers, but the people
decide to live in a positive path or continue down the road of destruction.

This article suggests the dangers of exposure to chemicals in cigarette smoke damages
the sense of smell. Scientist know that in animals, damaged olfactory receptor all die and
are replaced by healthy ones; similar replacements process begins in the human nose
when people stop smoking. While an acute sense of smell enhances the taste of food and
the appreciate of a rose, olfaction is far more than a frivolous sensory ability, odor experts
maintain, such as nose alerts people to many dangers, including fire, spoiled food and
toxic chemicals.

This article demonstrates the positive outcomes when Americans quit smoking
cigarettes. American researchers have found that quitting smoking makes people happier,
and the effects lasts for as long as they manage to kick the habit. The research team
concluded that even if some people report using smoking to ease stress and boost their
mood, it is likely to have the opposite effect. Study author Professor Christopher Kahler
