Attitudes on School and

Education

Introduction
In America today there is a big gap
between school and education. In this
report the term education mean, A body
of knowledge acquired while being
educated. Twenty to thirty present of
individuals are still not educated. Schools
are not encouraging people to think
critically, neither has it taught people
creativity.
So far some researchers have found the
cause to this matter. There has been few
questions that researchers inquiry like,
what are some ways can a person be
educated? What motivates a person to
learn? These questions can be answered
by doing close research and studies that
have determine. The investigation viewed
in this report provides understanding
about why there is a breach between
schooling and education.

Expert Option
Are people getting educated without
schooling? A star writer for the
Washington Independent reported that
there is a gap between school and
education. Lant Pritchett a professor at
Harvards Kennedy School says schooling
does not illustrate learning. The way of
learning is to have teachers instruct
students in ways that students can
appreciate learning.

Other experts believed that someone has

to be inspired for them to be educated.
Schaeffer talks about his school
experience, how he went to school more
than most people and was still not
educated. Schooling did not encourage
him to think critically, neither has it
taught him creativity. Schooling for most
individuals was about facts and figures,
rather than understanding and moral
formation.
Furthermore, Barbara Comber- Faculty
of Education, and Doctor of Philosophy
explains, points on high school poverty
environment. Providing highly qualified
teachers has been a problem in many
districts. Many Americans assume that
low financial management equal low
earnings. This has caused an interplay
between poverty and schooling and young
peoples aspirations and education
outcomes is explored. Even though
instructors continue to be extremely
difficult, there are other schools where
teachers are making positive moves
towards literacy rate.

Methods
In order to investigate he attitudes on
school and education- I modeled a survey
that I can distribute to random students
by paper and Survey Monkey. The survey
I made contained eight multiple choice
questions. Therefore, I decided to only use
students at NCC. The motive for this was
to collect answers from students that
knew their major, and already attended
NCC for two semesters. The survey was
completed within a day, and I received all
24 feedbacks. They was an equal
percentage of participants both male and

female. All participants were between the

age group of 20-25.

Result
The majority of participants shows 2730% of students enter the work field of
their major. After students were given the
opportunity to choose agree, disagree, and
somewhat agree, 75% of the students
agreed that education is important. When
ask what percentage of students entered
their major, 50% have selected 27-30%,
20% have selected 47-54%, and 30%
have selected 5-10%.
What percentage of students enter the work field of their major

Some researchers indicate that people

have to be encouraged in order for them
to be educated, while others think its a
poverty issue. The outcome also shows
that schooling by itself does not make a
person educated.
With the data reviewed, teachers and
educators can decide whether or not they
want to change some of their teaching
techniques with more suitable ones that
can engage other individuals to enjoy
learning even more. If the school system
determines the type of changes that are
going to benefit students and other
individuals, there will be an educational
growth within schools.

Discussion
The results I found appear that education
is the key to becoming successful. It can
give you the opportunity to explore more
in ones career research, and learn new
things along the way. I pick students with
a major because I wanted to see how
much effort and dedication he/she will
putting towards accomplishing their
target. Because the survey was done by
sophomores and juniors who have already
chosen a major, the result shows that
most students at NCC came to college for
one reason, to further their education.
This will help him/her to become
successful in there substantial.
