How to teach the alphabet to preschoolers:


This site talks about four ways to teach
preschoolers their ABCs. The four ways are
constant reading (of any types of books from
picture books, nursery rhymes, rhyming books
and chapter books), noticing print, helping
children learn the letters in their name, and
teach the alphabet letter by letter.

This site speaks upon how there are many
different ways a child a can practice and learn

movement. Therefore, the site gives examples
encouraging parents and educators to aid
children in learning their letters using rocks,
beans, pasta, pipe cleaners, marbles, play
dough etc. With those materials the children
can learn the letters in him or hers name while
being able to practice their creativity.

lower case. As well as help children with first

represent the letters. In the activity the children
will have to match uppercase and lowercase

Environmental Print ABCs Freebie:


This site talk about instead of using a basic
ABC chart educator can use a colorful ABC
chart that has environmental print and other
logos that children know and love. As the site
states this environmental print ABC chart helps
children make connections with sounds and
words.

10 Interesting Alphabet Activities For Your


Toddlers:
This site gives examples of many activities to
do with a child in order for them to practice
and learn their ABCs. The activities are,
baking letter cookies, singing song about
letters, and an alphabet memory game. Also
while on the road the parent can pick a letter
and have the children find as many stores
signs, billboards, road signs etc that display
that letter. This site has several activities but,
my favorite one I would use would be the
baking alphabet cookies activity.

Therefore, when they see those pictures and it
will help them indicate where he or she should
write their name, address, and phone number.

Ed: As the title of the site states this site is for
children who need assistance in forming
sentences. On this site it has several of
different worksheets that that have a word bank
with a few word that go with the sentence. The
child can pick which word he or she would like
to use in the sentence. Below each word and
the word bank has an arrow indicating where
the word should go on the sentence.

Rainbow themed literacy activities: This site


has different rainbow themed activities where
the child can practice spelling or writing
his/her name and other words. The site has

with different colored paper rolls. These are
fun and engaging activities that help children

Growing in Pre K- Names:


This site has different fun and engaging
activities that aid children in not only leaning
their own name but also, the names of other

using several colors to write a name, tracing a
name with white colored crayon and painting
over it, spelling a name by gluing sequins or
other materials on paper, to printing out letter
tile cards with the childs name on the top of it
and have the child put letters of the name in
each box.

How To Use a Kindergarten Journal:


This site shows how a teacher gradually helps
a student write in a journal. In the site the
teacher talks about how at first she lets the
child write the date and one sentence. Than
depending on how much writing skills
progresses and her confidence increases than
the teacher will have her write longer
sentences.
