BYLAWS OF THE BOARD

Bylaws of the Board - Meetings


Voting
A.

All votes on motions and all resolutions shall be by "ayes" and "noes," and the vote shall
be recorded.

B.

The statutes require the following vote for various board actions:
1.

The election of officers and the employment of certificated employees requires a


vote of a majority of all members of the board.

2.

All money appropriated out of the school fund must be on a recorded affirmative
vote of a majority of all the members of the board.

3.

No school property of any kind shall be sold except at a regular meeting and by a
recorded affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the members of the board.

4.

No bonds may be submitted to the electors without the consent of a majority of


the members of the board.

C.

Cancellation of contract for certificated employee requires a vote of the majority of the
members of the school board as does amendment or termination of the contract of a
certificated employee. All other board action may be taken by a vote of a majority of the
members present if sufficient in number to constitute a quorum.

D.

An abstention counts as a nay vote absent a conflict of interest which compels such
absenteeism.
