Rationale/Justification
The book is a compilation of the historical highlights of events that
shaped Texas, as such it represents a strong working knowledge of
Texas history by the teacher, and is a great tool for assisting students
with learning the important facts of the States history.

In this lesson student had to work in three different grouping in order


to complete the lesson activities. Students were given specific
instructions for each group arrangement, as to how the group should
operate to accomplish the assigned task.
The geography center consist of a puzzle that require students to put
the pieces together, and having done so, to attach the names of the
different continents and oceans in order to complete the activity.
Students find the puzzle activity extremely fun, while attaching the
names of the oceans presents them with an activity that requires them
to think, but still doing something hands on.

In the process of planning lessons for the class, it was important that
the lessons created a logical sequence with what the mentor teacher
had already taught and what she would be teaching. Subsequently,
there was a significant amount of decision making as to how to get
the lessons to flow and not to duplicate information, while still
making an interesting and engaging presentation

The text set addresses topics that fall under the theme of Ocean Life.
The books all present various perspectives on the theme and provide
a platform for the introduction of ideas such as species, warm or cold
blooded animals, ocean features formation, and ocean environmental
issues to name a few. The books are colorful, fun and are tiered for
every level of student.
