Terrorist attacks or the threat of such action has been in existence for millennia.
These attacks are the calculated use of unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to
inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to
intimidate governments or societies in
the pursuit of goals that are generally
political, religious, or ideological.
Everyone is exposed to an act of
terrorism. The Statista Website, stated
Around 32,727 people were killed by
terrorists in 2014 (para. 1). On that year, terrorism was considered a plague, because of all the
people who died. To prevent this problem, we need new policies to increase security. Some of the
new policies that we should have are that the people need to report any suspicious activities
always and that a new organization needs to be created to increase the security.
The latest terrorist attack took place in Paris last year, there were a total of six attacks, as
a result of this 130 people died. All the people around the world showed support to France.
According to Katelyn Sass from the Odyssey (2015), stated that Pope Francis mentioned that this
looked like the Third World War, also U.S. President Obama expressed his condolences and
Americas solidarity with France. France was living a nightmare, a night of fear, blood, and

screaming. Many people lost their loved ones. Most of society were sad and angry about this
terrible tragedy.
So how can we be prevent terrorist attacks? Terrorist attacks could be hard to prevent, but
it is not impossible. People should be alert all the time about what is around them, by being alert
I mean not to be paranoid, it is just to be more attentive. Sometimes people do not give
importance to little things that are actually big things, with this I mean that we must trust in our
instincts, if some person is doing something suspicious, report it. It can be hard to see which
person could harm, damage, and kill and who would not, but it can be possible to see a
suspicious act. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (2016), stated While America is
stronger and more resilient as a result of a strengthened homeland security enterprise, threats
from terrorism persist and continue to evolve. They may be as simple as a home-made bomb or
as sophisticated as a biological threat or coordinated cyber attack (para. 2). The Department of
Homeland Security is in charge of protecting the United States from terrorism, but people could
help stop this issue. Seeing a mistrustful act in a public location, as an airport, school, or other
place, must be reported always immediately. This terrible problem should not be ignored by
anyone. It is important to contribute with our voice, what we see, hear, feel and think because the
result of this will save lives. If all the people join to this cause, it could help our nation to become
a better and safe one.
Secondly, there are anti-terrorists organizations in some countries that consist of
protecting their country, but there should also exist one organization for all the nations. In this
organization, all the nations will be working together. The purpose of this group will be more
about investigating the terrorists, their history, information about their families, and with who

they socialize. People from each nation will be contributing with information about this. This
organization will be helping to increase the security twice. Also, some of the previous terrorists
had experience as soldiers, this means that the nations must be attentive as much as possible
because maybe one of the soldiers could be later a terrorist. To prevent this, the organization will
be in charge of checking the records of each soldiers of each nation. In addition, the institution
will have a special phone line, then instead of calling 911, people can report something about
terrorism on that phone line of the organization. Depending on the persons necessity, the
organization can see if the call is necessary to be transferred to 911, or if they can resolve it. If all
the nations works together to prevent this problem, it will be more easier to stop terrorism in the
world.
Therefore, terrorist attacks are an issue that should not be ignored. This horrible problem
is responsible of millions of deaths every year. This needs to stop. Nobody deserves to die in a
terrorist attack. The society should help to stop this problem, it is important that if a suspicious
act is seen by you, immediately report it. Also, a new organization for all the nations must be
created with the purpose of increasing security twice. As Pope Francis compared the Paris
terrorist attack with the Third World War. He makes us realize that terrorist attacks are like wars.
We can help to stop these wars. The world needs us. We do not want more innocent deaths. We

should act to stop this terrible problem.
