The project must have a minimum of 20 photos and a maximum of 50 photos. With each photo you will provide a description of the physics Principle, concept or Law that you have captured in its everyday setting. A partial list of concepts includes: distance, time, speed, velocity, acceleration, inertia, Newton's 1st, 2nd, 3rd Laws, simple machines, mechanical advantage, leverage, torque, momentum, impulse, FaT MaV.

PhysicsIts Everyday Life Inspired By Charli Cohens Mom
The Laws of Physics govern actions/reactions & interactions that occur in our daily lives. From watching movies, playing sports, driving, attending Six Flags, thinking about the challenges facing next generations in terms of energy, efficiency, and innovation.the list could go on. Your mission is to find everyday occurrences of Physics concepts. The project must have a minimum of 20 photos and a maximum of 50 photos. One-Tenth of the photos must be of concepts that we HAVE NOT STUDIED! With each photo you will provide a description of the Physics Principle, Concept or Law that you have captured in its everyday setting. Each description must be as detailed as possible. The first 50 words (or so) should describe where in the photo the (P.C.L.) is and as accurate a representation of the principal as possible. The more you write and describe the higher your rubric score will be (provided the information is accurate). The use of secondary sources to verify your information is encouraged. Concept Collage/Model your project is required to have a concept collage- a collection of numerous photos of physics concepts clipped from mags, newspaper, internet etc. the collage can be a physical collage, graphical collage or digital collage. A scale model could instead be submitted for this grading standard. A partial list of concepts includes: distance, time, speed, velocity, acceleration, inertia, Newtons 1st, 2nd, 3rd Laws, simple machines, mechanical advantage, leverage, torque, momentum, impulse, FaT MaV, conservation laws (mass, energy, momentum), work, power, forces (nuclear, weak, strong, net, normal, frictional etc), air resistance, terminal velocity, KE, PE, gravity, universal gravitation Law, Keplers Laws, energy forms, transformations of energy, heat, temperature, specific heat, conduction, radiation, convection, waves forms, sound, light, frequency, wavelength, reflection, refraction, diffraction, absorption, series/parallel circuits, electricity, magnetism, nuclear physics, quantum mechanics, quarks, bosons, mesons, decay, decay, decay---to name a few!! Presentation is left open to the student, however; I will not accept Posters, drawings, hand-written explanations, sloppy/shoddy workmanship etc. Effort should be placed on producing a collegiate level summary of the concepts of Physics. A general rubric guide will be Photo Example of P.C.L. ---5 points/per Explanation of P.C.L. ---20 points/per Creativity of above ---10 points/per Neatness (Polish) ---5 points/per Concept Collage ---200 points total ** please note the minimum and maximum allowable photos (excluding the collage)- this dictates that a RANGE of grades is possible for example: 24 photos could score 120 pts + 480 pts + 240 pts +120 pts + 200pts equaling(=) 1160pts I will use a sliding scale to determine the % grade equivalent of the total points. There is a direct relationship between higher % scores and higher #s of photos/explanations. Minimum possible 1000pts---Maximum possible 2000 pts. There is a penalty for lateness of 200 pts per dayNO EXCEPTIONS!! No projects will be accepted after May16th seniors THE FINAL PROJECT IS DUE: Friday, May 20th
