The use of a projector and Microsoft power-point as well as a map.

Oral, formal assessments. Used open ended questions to lead discussions and gave
feedback to participants.

(Traditional/progressive, behaviorist, student-centered vs. teacher centered, authoritative etc)
Very lucid, the use of humor to maintain student attention/ Behaviorist and teacher
centerd. As the vast majority of the instructional time was lecture.
7-How does the teacher manage classroom? Can you identify classroom management

8-Observe in the classroom setting and determine types of behavior students play when offtask. What do they do when they are not paying attention? How does the teacher re-direct
them or get them back on task?
A student fell asleep constantly having to be awoken. Upon the reawakening of the said
student, involvement and attempted to include him in participating in discussions.

communication such as facial, body language, use of space, motion and time?)
Verbal as well as with active body motion/ language
10-Who were the students in the class? What did you notice about them? (Background,
diversity, attitude, motivation, interaction, participation, etc)
Highly diverse group of students who were excited to learn due to the instructors active
energy.

ineffective in keeping students engaged?
Humor and questioning demonstrated effectiveness in the active classroom.
12-What are the two instructional strategies you observed and would like to apply in your
classroom?
Student centered learning and the constant feedback throughout the discussions to allow
self growth. The use of maps and media to maintain the students attention, using various forms
of media allowed for gaining attention of various learning styles.
13-What are two important classroom management strategies that you observed and would
like to apply in your classroom?
Classroom seating was in a manner that promoted discussions as well clear vision to the
board for lecture. Used classroom/peers to guide lesson to ensure active participation.
