- Students will develop a sense of comparing
between different quantities.
- Students will discover what estimating
really means rather than just randomly
guessing impossible numbers.

*what specific skill or concept would students have

learned or experience by the end of the lesson
* always expressed in terms of student learning
* concrete, measurable & realistic
* maximum of three objectives
* include name of curriculum guide & objective

Strategies:
Students will sit down in the circle area,
teachers will explain to them what were
doing for the day to get them prepared.
Teachers will first show them the Gumball
machine with 3 Gumballs in it with a sticky
note label that says 3, then show them
another one with 5 Gumballs with the sticky
note label saying 5.
The last Gumball machine will contain 4
Gumballs and a sticky note label that says
?, we will ask the students a series of
questions such as: Do you think this machine
has more or less than 3? Do you think this
machine has more or less than 5? How
many do you think are in this machine?
We will let each student write their estimation
and name on a piece of paper, we will collect
the papers then hang them on the board
showing all their answers.
We will count the Gumballs in the machine
together with the students and find out who
was close to the answer and who got it right.
ACTIVITIES
Grabber:
We will sing all together, and then we will ask them how many
students in the class without counting so they have to guess,
and then we will tell them about the Gumballs activity so they can
be ready for the activity.

what will you do to grab

student attention & to
generate interest/enthusiasm
in the lesson?

Students will write the number

that they estimate it.
Students will guess the

ASSESSMENT (WHAT DID ?)

The teachers will assess the students if they need help, like Ms. Dony
will help the students with writing the numbers, and Ms. Renee can help
the students if they have a question. Although the other students will be
setting on the blue matt waiting for their turn to come up.

*what will you do to assess

learning?
*what will happen to
measure that the goals were
met?
