Parent Introduction

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Hello! My name is Katelyn Pratt and I will be student teaching in Mr. Zundels classroom this spring. I am
so excited to have the opportunity to work with and get to know your child over the next few months.
One of my main goals in student teaching is to help foster a warm and inviting classroom community
where students can feel supported, valued, and have the opportunity to grow individually and as a
group. I am encouraged to have the wonderful support and guidance of Mr. Zundel as I work to make
this goal a reality during my time with the students.
I started my student teaching on January 25th and will be in the classroom everyday until April 29th. I will
start my student teaching by observing and assisting in the class as I get to know the students. Over
time, I will gradually take on the responsibilities of teaching. I will work up to teaching full time for a
couple weeks then transition out of the classroom towards the end of April.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Seton Hill University and am now pursing my Master of
Education and teaching certification. Previously, I have had experience working with children through
tutoring and being a physical therapy technician. My previous experiences working with children and
getting to observe their wonder, curiosity, and uniqueness have taught me so much and I looking
forward to growing and learning from your children throughout my student teaching.
