Causes, Course, Consequences of Vietnam War


11th Grade
2 weeks.
The 11th Grade students will create a propaganda video, in groups of
five, demonstrating their understanding of how U.S. involvement in
the Vietnam War was viewed in America, and both countries of
Vietnam based on the rubric.

SS.912.A.6.14 Analyze causes, course, and consequences


of the Vietnam War. NETS-T: Design and develop digital
age learning experiences and assessments.
Video recording device, computer, knowledge textbook or research
based, video editing software.
Our own example of a propaganda video that depicts images relating
to the lesson, The Vietnam War.
1. After studying Vietnam war in the classroom.
2. The students will be divided up into four groups of five by
drawing numbers from a hat.
3. The groups will be assigned to create a propaganda video
based on what view they were given to represent. (U.S. For/
U.S. Against/ N. Vietnam/ S. Vietnam)
4. The first two days, starting on Monday, will be given to the
students so that they may divide up the labor of the project
within the group.
5. The next two weeks the project will be worked on outside of
class, it should be coordinated by the group members and will
be presented two Mondays after the start date.
6. The propaganda video and presentation should include
relevant images and information, see rubric for scoring and
requirements.
With an example propaganda video presented to the class, the
students will be given all the information to create an effective video.
The groups will provide different insights and give the students
creative freedom to create a video all their own. With their
presentations, and participation credentials on the project, the
students will demonstrate their understanding of their point of view
on the Vietnam war.
