Step 1Desired Results
Standards, benchmarks, other objectives as needed (e.g., IEP)What should students know, understand, and be able
to do as a result of the lesson?
Standard 4 - The physically literate individual exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that

7th grade PE students will be able to give words of encouragement to their group members at least 5 times
during the class.
7th grade PE students will demonstrate muscular strength and endurance activities correctly 90% of the time
7th grade PE students will recognize the health benefits of muscular strength and endurance circuit training
as assessed by teacher.
Step 2Assessment Evidence
Performance taskWhat will students do to show what they have learned?
Performance criteriaHow good is good enough to meet standards?
7th grade PE students will tell how many words of encouragement they gave during the class.
7th grade PE students will tell how these exercises along with muscular strength training and endurance
training benefits their health?
7th grade PE students will write a short answer how muscle strength and endurance help them in everyday
life and it increase their health?

Step 3Learning Plan

Learning activities (step by step from start to finish, detailed enough for another teacher to follow)
-Equipment/materials needed: 8 cones, fitness circuit cards, jump rope and music player
-Students will keep going with fitness unit.
-Today we have muscular strength and endurance circuit.
-Warm up- run around the gym for a 1min 30sex x2
-After warm-up students will listen the directions, goal of the day and rules.
-Gather in the center of the gym
-Instruction: 30 sec per station. 4 rounds.
-Change stations and rest
-After every round, 30sec rest, 7 stations
-While the music plays, be active at your station: focus on technique. When the music stops, rotate to the
next station.
-Describe the rotation between stations and teacher will demonstrate each station.
-Stations:
1. Jump rope
2. Line touches
3. Plank
4. Mountain climbers
5. Squats
6. Wall sits
7. V- sits

-Continue until you hear the stop signal and change the stations quickly.
-Break students up into group (3-4 students per group)
-After done with 3 rounds
-> cool down
-At the end of the class, students will make a circle and we will do cool-down stretching and go through
closure questions.
