THE COURTS OF HEAVEN

MESSAGE SERIES:
By H. Pitts Evans

PART 1: WHO ARE THE SAINTS OF GOD?

PART 2: MAKING PROPHETIC DECREES.

INTRODUCTION TO THE COURTS OF HEAVEN

Jer 23:18 But which of them has ever stood in my courts? Have
they been there to see a vision or hear my message? Who has
listened and heard my message there?...20b In days to come you
will understand it clearly22 Suppose they had stood in my
courts. Then they would have announced my message to my
people. NIrV
Zech 3:1 THEN [the guiding angel] showed me Joshua the high
priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing
at Joshua's right hand to be his adversary and to accuse him. 2 And
the LORD (Yahweh) said to Satan, The Lord rebuke you, O Satan!
Even the Lord, Who [now and habitually] chooses Jerusalem,
rebuke you! Is not this [returned captive Joshua] a brand plucked
out of the fire? [Jude 9.] 3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy
garments and was standing before the Angel [of the Lord]. 4 And
He spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, Take away the
filthy garments from him. And He said to [Joshua], Behold, I have
caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with
rich apparel. 5 And I [Zechariah] said, Let them put a clean turban
on his head. So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him
with [rich] garments. And the Angel of the Lord stood by. 6 And
the Angel of the Lord [solemnly and earnestly] protested and
affirmed to Joshua, saying, 7 Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you
will walk in My ways and keep My charge, then also you shall
rule My house and have charge of My courts, and I will give
you access [to My presence] and places to walk among these who
stand here. 8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you and your
colleagues who [usually] sit before you for they are men who
are a sign or omen [types of what is to come] for behold, I will
bring forth My servant the Branch. [Isa 4:2; Jer 23:5; 33:15; Zech
6:12.] AMP

PART I. WHO ARE THE SAINTS OF GOD?

Eph 1:1b To the saints in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus:1
Phil 1:1b To all the saints in Christ Jesus at Philippi,
Saint; noun; a person of exalted virtue who is canonized by the
Church after death and who may be the object of veneration and
prayers for intercession. Roman Catholic Church Website
SAINTS. Positionally, every NT believer. All the saved of the NT
era are saints (hagioi) by virtue of their position "in Christ." The
New Unger's Bible Dictionary
Saint: From Latin sanctus holy, literally sanctified,
consecrated. Encarta World English Dictionary

In the Old Testament a person who has been

consecrated to God is sometimes called a saint.

In the New Testament a saint is a person who has
been consecrated to God by virtue of their having a
relationship with Jesus Christ.
Saints can still be alive and living on earth, or they can
be living in eternity with the Lord.

Heb 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly
Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands
upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23 to the church of
the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come
to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made
perfect, 24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, NIV

The Wonderful Promises of God are for His Saints.

it is clearly marked with standard abbreviations.

I.

SAINTS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT.

Deut 33:2 And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up
from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he
came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery
law for them. 3 Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy
hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy
words. KJV
Ps 89:5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Lord: thy
faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints. 6 For who in
the heaven can be compared unto the Lord? Who among the sons
of the mighty can be likened unto the Lord? 7 God is greatly to be
feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of
all them that are about him. KJV

II.

The Courts of Heaven and the Saints

Dan 7:9a As I looked, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient
of Days took his seat10b The court was seated, and the books
were opened13 In my vision at night I looked, and there before
me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven.
He approached the Ancient of Days.
Dan 7:18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom,
and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever7:21 I
beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed
against them; 22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment (a
verdict) was given to the saints of the most High; and the time
came that the saints possessed the kingdom.7:25 And he shall
speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the
saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and
they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the
dividing of time. 26 But the judgment shall sit, (the court will
sit NIV),27 And the kingdom and dominion, shall be given
to the people of the saints of the most High, KJV

III.

What is the Future Function of Saints?

Ps 149:5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud
upon their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
and a two edged sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance
upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; 8 To bind
their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To
execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all
his saints. Praise ye the Lord.
Jude 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of
these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his
saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that
are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they
have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which
ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
1 Cor 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world?
And if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to
judge the smallest matters? 3 Know ye not that we shall judge
angels? How much more things that pertain to this life?

CONCLUSION:

WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN TO US NOW?

1) The Promises of the Bible belong to the Saints of God.

2) How Do You Become a Saint? IN THE NT Sainthood
only comes from having a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Heb 10:10, Eph 1:7, Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved
through faith; Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be saved. KJV

3) The Bible says the LORD presides over a Council in the

Courts of Heaven that includes His saints. He is a God
feared in the council of the holy ones (saints). Ps 89:7
RSV
4) The Bible says saints shall execute vengeance upon the
heathen and execute ..the judgments of God. Ps 149:7,
Jude 15
5) Ultimately, Saints will be given a judgment in the Courts
of Heaven that brings in an everlasting kingdom. Dan 7
6) Paul also tells us that the saints shall judge angels and
the world. 1 Cor 6:2
THOSE WHO KNOW JESUS ARE THE SAINTS OF GOD.

TWO OF PAULS PRAYERS FOR SAINTS

Eph 1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you
in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and
revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the
hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his
inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness
of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of
his mighty power, KJV
Eph 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his
glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being
rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with
all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye
might be filled with all the fulness of God. KJV

PART II. PROPHETIC DECREES

I.

WHAT IS A PROPHETIC DECREE?

A DECREE IS AN OFFICIAL ORDER THAT IS ISSUED BY A COURT

OR A PERSON WITH LEGAL AUTHORITY. FOR CHRISTIANS, IT IS
THE DIVINE WILL OF GOD AS IT IS SPECIFICALLY PROCLAIMED IN
THE BIBLE, WHICH IS GODS WORD. BY H. PITTS EVANS
A PROPHETIC DECREE IS ISSUED WHEN ONE OF GODS SAINTS
BELIEVES BY FAITH THAT HIS WORD IS TRUE NOW AND
PROCLAIMS IT AS BEING APPLICABLE ON TO HIS LIFE ON EARTH,
AS IT ALREADY IS IN HEAVEN. BY H. PITTS EVANS
Job 22:28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be
established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy
ways. KJV

II.

GODS SAINTS LIVE BY HIS DECREES.

Ex 18:16 Whenever they have a dispute, it is brought to
me, and I decide between the parties and inform them of
God's decrees and laws.
Ps 66:16 Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell
you what he has done for me.
Prov 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
Matt 12:37 For by your words you will be
acquitted and by your words you will be
condemned.

PROPHETIC DECREES FROM GODS WORD

I am a Saint and I am faithful in Christ Jesus.
Eph 1:1 To the saints in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ
Jesus:
I am blessed by God in the heavenly realms with every
spiritual blessing in Christ.
Eph 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with
every spiritual blessing in Christ.
I was chosen before the creation of the world to be holy and
blameless in Gods sight.
Eph 1:4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the
world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
I was predestined to be adopted as Gods Son, through Jesus
Christ. He has given me his glorious grace in Jesus Christ.
Eph 1:4b In love 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his
sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure
and will 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he
has freely given us in the One he loves.
I have redemption through the blood of Jesus and my sins are
forgiven. He has also given me lavish wisdom and
understanding by His grace.
Eph 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the
forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's
grace 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and
understanding.
8

In Jesus, I am a chosen person and I was predestined to follow

the plans of God.
Eph 1:11 In him we were also chosen, having been
predestined according to the plan of him who works out
everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,
I was included in Christ when I first heard the word of truth,
and when I believed my life was sealed in Him by the Holy
Spirit. The Holy Spirit is with me now and He has given me a
deposit on my future inheritance in glory.
Eph 1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you
heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.
Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the
promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our
inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's
possession to the praise of his glory.
I have great faith in the Lord Jesus and I love all of the saints.
Eph 1:15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your
faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints
I give thanks to God now for all of those who love Jesus and I
remember them in my prayers.
Eph 1:16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you,
remembering you in my prayers.
I receive the Spirit of Wisdom and the Spirit of Revelation
now, so that I may know God, our glorious Father, even better.
Eph 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of
wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
9

Right now, my eyes are being enlightened so that I can know

the hope He has called me for. I receive the glorious
inheritance that God has provided for me and I thank God for
His incomparably great power that He had given to me and to
all of us who believe.
Eph 1:18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be
enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which
he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in
the saints, 19a and his incomparably great power for us
who believe.
The power that God has given me is like the working of His
mighty strength that raised Christ from the dead. I am seated
with Jesus in heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority,
power and dominion, now and in the ages to come.
Eph 1:19b That power is like the working of his mighty
strength, 20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him
from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the
heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power
and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in
the present age but also in the one to come.
I am part of the Church of Jesus Christ, which is His body and
I am filled with the fullness of Him in every way.
Eph 1:22 And God placed all things under his feet and
appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills
everything in every way.
God, who is rich in mercy, saved me by His grace and made me
alive in Christ.

10

Eph 2:4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is
rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we
were dead in transgressions it is by grace you have been
saved.
God has raised me up in Christ and seated me with Him in
heavenly realms, so He can show off His kindness and the
incomparable riches of His grace toward me, in the ages to
come.
Eph 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us
with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order
that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable
riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ
Jesus.
I am already saved by grace through faith, which is a free gift
from God. I thank God for this wonderful gift that I now have.
Eph 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through
faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
I am Gods workmanship and He created me in Christ Jesus to
do good works that He has prepared in advance exclusively for
me.
Eph 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for
us to do.
I am no longer far away from God, because I have been
brought into His presence through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far
away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

guilty by bringing down on his own head what he has done.
Declare the innocent not guilty and so establish his
innocence.

Eph 6:12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood
[contending only with physical opponents], but against the
despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits
who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against
the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly
(supernatural) sphere. AMP
