The teacher plans instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous learning goals by
drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and pedagogy, as
well as knowledge of learners and the community context.

Brief Description:
I created this thematic unit for second grade children and it is be based around the childrens
book: Abbie Rose and the Magic Suitcase: The Day a Panda Saved My Life. The central theme is
Pandas. I created panda based activities for each subject area. Each subject area also has the
corresponding Indiana Academic Standard it fulfills.
Rationale:
To certify my comprehension of standard #7 Ive create a thematic unit. This thematic unit
summarizes my ability to plan a lesson that fits all subject areas while strengthening the students
knowledge and abilities in each subject area.
