"Term Paper on McDonald's." Assignment Point. N.p., 25 Mar. 2013. Web. 11 Feb. 2016.
This article explains how McDonald's is one of the world's largest growing international
burger chains in the world! Richard and Maurice McDonald started this business with a
restaurant in San Bernardino California in 1940. Currently McDonald's serves more than 56
million customers every day.Offering more than 1.5 million jobs worldwide. Its competing in
the fast food industry serving burgers, fries, shakes, salad and more! McDonald's is operating in
over 120 countries with over 30,000 restaurants across the world, 80% of those being franchised
owned and 20% being company owned. McDonald's has also utilized a rapid expansion into
many different foreign countries; most of which is done through a franchising agreement or
company owned. Being international and centralized McDonalds has to keep a grasp on their
quality and food cost. This source will be most helpful throughout this paper because it gives
excellent details and specifics. I plan on using the dates it gives me to tell factually information.

different countries. McDonald's has also been widely criticized for contributing to the rise of
obesity and many other diet-related problems. The film Super Size Me consisted of Morgan
Spurlocks account of how he made himself gain over 25 pounds from only eating
McDonalds for thirty days straight. The success McDonalds has experiences has also given
rise to some problems. One of these problems is criticizing McDonalds as being a source of
overweight problems in our society. An additional problem has been the rapid growth of the
employee base, has subjected McDonalds to criticism about underpaid wages. Being under
all the pressure, McDonalds made some changes to its menu. The sources will be most
helpful to me because it tells background information about how McDonalds has grown into
the vast empire it is today.
"Review of "Grinding It Out" by Ray Kroc, Co-founder of McDonald's." Review of Grinding
It Out by Ray Kroc, Co-founder of McDonalds. N.p., n.d. Web. 18 Feb. 2016.
Ray Krocs book Grinding It Out shows the making behind the golden arches and the
development of the world wide chain. The first McDonalds was founded in 1940 by the
McDonald brothers in San Bernardino. In fact, the McDonald brothers shut down the first
successful restaurant to pursue other interest. Ray Kroc capitalized on his restaurant
equipment experience and saw the vision of building the McDonalds style restaurants into an
international chain. Kroc was aware of the McDonalds brother inquiring significant
multimixers from him and flew out to meet them. This immediately resulted in the
McDonalds brother agreeing to start opening up new stores. Krocs book will be helpful to me
for examining the growth of the McDonald name.
