INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATE:

Answer ALL questions. Follow the instructions in each question


carefully.

INFORMATION TO CANDIDATE:

Students ARE NOT ALLOWED to bring any hard copy material or


reference book / notes / paper into the examination room.

2.

All questions shall be answered in A3 size drawing paper using


instrument set, T-square, triangles, France Curve, 4 types of pencils,
etc.

You are permitted to use a non-programmable electronic calculator in


this examination.

Return this test question paper once student has finished the drawing.

Hole basis chart is provided.

Counter bearing bracket, shown in Figure Q1 (in the next page) is a symmetrical
component that has become one of the most common accessories in a mechanical
workshop.
1. Construct the orthographic top view (elevation X),
(20 marks)
2. Create front view and section A-A at side view (elevation Y) in third angle projection
for the part.
(30 marks)
3. Complete with title block, correct scale and full dimensioning.
(20 marks)
4. Convert T1 and T2 from direct limits into natural tolerances (upper and lower
deviation).
(10 marks)
5. A manufacturer has manufactured a shaft and planned to drill T3 hole with a 19 mm
basic size. Determine the shaft neck and T3 hole dimensions for an loose running
fit.
(10 marks)
6. Indicate the following technical information either as written notes in your drawing in
the top right corner or shown as leader notes (dimensioning style).
