Problem Identification
With the rapid growth of the company, many employees have had the opportunity to move into a management role but dont fully
understand what being a manager entails until they are in the new position. This is causing high turnover because the employees
moving into the management role dont enjoy the responsibilities or they do not have the essential skills needed to be a good leader.
This not only effects the manager but also impacts their direct reports. High turnover and unhappy employees lead to the need for an
Exploring Leadership training. This training will provide employees interested in moving into management a clear guide to what they
would be responsible for, the key skills they would need to be an effective manager, and the benefits and challenges of a career in
management.

Delivery Options
The training program will be conducted on-site at the company and will use a blended delivery method consisting of both online
training and live face-to-face training sessions with pre-work and post-work. The program will start with a live face-to-face training
that will present the roles or the manager, key skills needed to be successful, and the challenges and benefits of management. After this
session, learners will be asked to watch four online video trainings (one for each role of the manager). Then live discussion sessions
will be facilitated to talk about the videos and include role playing. Learners will also be assigned a mentor to work with and asked to
create an individual development plan to practice leadership skills on the job.
