3 Letters of Recommendation: Included below in this document.

April 6, 2016
To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to recommend Samantha Twigg for a teaching position at Allegany County
Public Schools. I have been a special educator for 30 years, 28 with Baltimore County Public
Schools. Samantha and I have worked together for the last four years at Featherbed Lane
Elementary in Baltimore County where I serve as a special education resource. During the past
she has proven herself to be a reliable, trustworthy and top-caliber educator.
Samantha possesses an exceptional ability to connect with elementary children. With a firm but
friendly demeanor, she manages to keep control in her classroom and present both simple and
complex concepts to all levels of students. She has strong written and verbal skills, and she is
both organized and dependable. Her lessons are engaging and well thought out in order to make
them most meaningful to the children. She is skilled in gaining the trust and respect of her
pupils, enabling them to listen to her instructions. Samantha is a well-respected educator who
knows the value of discipline while maintaining a close and friendly relationship with the
students.
During the 2014-2016 school year, Samantha served as the tech liaison for our school. In
addition to the endless demands of teaching, Samantha served as the technology liaison, where
she assisted our staff with issues ranging from computers and Promethean Boards, to printers and
Wi-Fi access.
I believe that Samantha Twigg would be an excellent addition to the staff. She is an asset to our
school community. Please contact me if you feel that I can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Michael Silver, M. Ed.

To Whom It May Concern:
It is with great pleasure that I am recommending Ms. Samantha Twigg as a teacher
in your school. I have worked with Ms. Twigg during the last school year and would
like to comment on my experiences with her.
Ms. Twigg invariably demonstrates the highest level of professionalism, commitment
and perseverance that I have ever observed in a teacher. She possesses the
exceptional ability to be able to work with all types of students, no matter their
ability or personality type.
Ms. Twiggs allegiance to her students is very evident in her nurturing manner and
her level of dedication to ensure that all students are successful as she strives to
have them maximize their potential.
As I stated, I have been working with Ms. Twigg during the last school year. While
she is a fourth grade teacher and I am a reading specialist, she is a role model in
our school to all of our teachers. She completes everything in a timely and
perfectionist manner. Her children are always on task and engaged in meaningful
work. Due to the fact that Ms. Twigg has impeccable classroom management, she is
frequently asked to have children who exhibit challenging behaviors placed in her
class. It is quite impressive to see the metamorphosis of these challenging students
as they become better mannered and more respectful. This is able to occur
because of Ms. Twiggs level of devotion to ensuring that her classroom environment
is conducive to learning.
I would also like to comment on Ms. Twiggs ability to communicate well with
parents. She presents herself and represents the school in a very professional
manner. The parents are treated with respect and are frequently updated on their
childrens progress. When the need arises to increase parent involvement, Ms.
Twigg is diligent in working collaboratively with them. She develops a partnership
so that together they ensure the child is given the best opportunity to be successful.
I can say without exception that Ms. Twigg will prove herself a complement to your
staff. I am confident that she will continue to demonstrate her outstanding qualities
as an educator who is committed to delivering the highest standard of education to
all students placed under her tutelage.
If you require further information or comments, please contact me at Featherbed
Lane Elementary School. The phone number at school is 410-887-1302.
Sincerely,

Bonita M. Swanner,

Reading Specialist
Featherbed Lane Elementary School

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Fametta Jackson and I have been an educator for over 16
years. Last year, I served as a mentor teacher for the Baltimore County
School System. I also had the luxury of working with Ms. Twigg. As a mentor
teacher, I had the responsibility of guiding Ms. Twigg through her first year as
a teacher. Through this experience, I have come to learn that Ms. Twigg is a
highly capable and effective educator.
During the past school year, Ms. Twigg had the daunting task of
learning and implementing two different grade level curriculums. While
beginning the year as a pre-k teacher, she became fully immersed in the
curriculum. From developing differentiated lessons plans to creating and
implementing behavioral plans for a number of students to establishing a
challenging but yet accommodating learning environment for ESOL students,
Ms. Twigg displayed her high level of professionalism as well as flexibility.
This work ethic was later put to the test when she was asked to leave her
pre-k classroom position to become the new fourth grade teacher during the
third month of school. Although this opportunity would have been a difficult
one even for the most highly experienced veteran teacher, this novice
teacher stepped up to the challenge and became successful. Once an
understanding the curriculum was acquired, Ms. Twigg became a resource for
the other fourth grade teachers in the areas of guided reading/ small group
instruction and lesson planning. Her ability to understand data and use it to
drive instruction increased during grade level planning sessions with
administrators and other resource educators. Because it was a huge leap
from working with pre-k students to fourth graders, it was crucial that a
discipline plan was established and used consistently to guarantee a rigorous
and safe learning environment. Without any hesitation, Ms. Twigg sought the
assistance that was needed to establish order in her classroom and
consistently implemented the plan throughout the remainder of the year.
Ms. Twigg was an effective teacher in a culturally diverse, urban
school community during the 2012- 2013 school year. She displayed high
integrity and professionalism. I believe that she will continue to work hard in
becoming an even better teacher. For this reason, I believe that she will be
an asset to your school community.

Educationally yours,
Fametta Jackson
