Physically-hitting, kicking, pushing
Verbally-name calling, spreading rumors
Socially-excluding, gossiping

Characteristics of Victims
Avoid conflicts and disagreements at all

costs
Poor self-esteem or self-confidence
Physical/Medical problems like headaches,
nausea, or anxiety

Characteristics of Bullies
May witness physical/verbal aggression at

home and see this as a positive behavior


May act aggressively (physically or verbally)
toward other adults and their peers

Through peer groups
Sexually
Emotionally
Verbally
Technologically

Bullying in Boys
Physical

Group bullying (gang)

Power in Bullying
Feeling bigger, stronger, smarter or better

than another human


A sense of power over someone immediately
leads to bullying
Can be power in children or adults

Problem Solving in Bullying


Provide a good example of positive behavior at

home and at schools


Show real world examples of bullying and how
to handle those situations successfully
Calming practices (deep breathing, talking
about emotions)
Be supportive through everything
Show them bullying from a different
perspective

Always Remember
Communicate openly and effectively!
Demonstrate security and protection
Stay positive
Listen closely
Create ample opportunity for success
