Eng. Vincent Ochwo Olie is a Registered Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB),
Reg. No. 662, Corporate Member of UIPE, PE 650. He is a holder of a B.Sc. (Mech. Eng.) from
Makerere University, an MBA degree and finalizing M.Sc. TIID at Makerere University. Currently,
he works with Uganda National Bureau of Standards heading the Market Surveillance Department.
Eng. Vincent Ochwo is the current Honorary Secretary of the Uganda Institution of Professional
Engineers (UIPE), a Member of the Finance and Administration Committee (F& A) of UIPE, a
Member of Membership, Education, and Training (MET), and Joint Assessment Committees (JAC)
of UIPE. As a member of Council and Honorary Secretary, the membership of UIPE has increased
due to many programmes he participated in developing and implementing such as the Engineers
Registration Enhancement Programmes.
Previously, Eng. Ochwo served as the Chairperson, Joint Assessment Committee (JAC) of UIPE.
This was at the time the JAC was set up and during his tenure as Chairman of JAC, the joint
admission of applicants to Corporate membership of UIPE and registration with ERB as engineers
as one registration process took effect. This made the process of registration shorter and less
cumbersome. He also served as the Chairperson of the Membership, Education and Training
Committee of UIPE. Eng. Ochwo has also served as a member of National Technology Forum
Committee.
Eng. Ochwo has a lot of experience in Council matters and he will be able to take the Institution to
greater heights. As the candidate seeks your vote for Presidency, the candidate promises to take
immediate actions which will increase the number of registered engineers in the country by
developing and implementing programmes (such as the recent Engineers Registration Enhancement
Programmes). He will also advocate and lobby for participation of our Engineers in engineering
projects in the country. The candidate promises to work closely with ERB for the betterment of our
great and advancement the engineering profession, promote the professional development of
members, and strengthen the Institution. I humbly request for your vote and support in this
